Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Depends on his ending time. I work a lot later into the evenings than most of my colleagues and don't go into the office until 8.

I read a report last week that Obama is late to nearly every meeting, appointment, speaking engagement....etc. This is nothing new as the same was true of Clinton, but Bush was knows for being 100% punctual.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I think it would have been better if he was late to a couple of his mmetings.

9 is a decent start time IMO

Just my personal opinion, but I'm late to a lot of meetings as well. It's not because I don't have a watch. I'm on time to my first meeting, but the most work gets done as a meeting ends. Normally, there's a lot of people involved in meetings that don't need to be there, and they distract from the purpose. As a meeting closes, the people that are actually trying to solve the problem tend to linger to get answers, so I stay to get the actual work moving in the right direction, which of course means I'll be late to my next meeting. But the real work in that meeting never happens until the end anyways.

Well run meetings should start, and end on time. Without good organization and discipline, meetings tend to waste too much time.

I have no problem with starting at 9:00 if he is putting in the 12 hour day that the job takes. I do have a problem with being late to meetings...it is a matter of responsibility and integrity...if you say you are going to be somewhere at a certain time DO IT.....you're the President for cryin out loud.

Apparently you two don't attend that many meetings. It's a lot different to be at your one meeting a day on time versus when you have meetings from 8-5. By the way, the only people I've ever worked with that think meetings should begin and end on time could be fired and not missed. They're not at the meetings to get work done.

The only time I've seen everyone on time for meetings is when the company culture demanded it. Every meeting had an agenda, a facilitator, a note taker, and every meeting ended with a list of owners and action items. It's difficult at first, but once everyone buys into the system, it's very efficient, and meetings don't end up being mainly a waste of time.

haha....I attend meetings all day almost every day as I am involved with so many ventures, and I am guilty of being late from time to time based on previous meetings running late. Obama is late to every meeting, including the 1st one of the day...press conferences...etc. I try to schedule a buffer zone between meetings to cut-down on tardiness, which is just me being responsible for myself and my own punctuality......personal responsibility...something that Obama tends to be against.
