Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

i was referring more to the "past doesn't count" "national championships don't count", "all that matters is the present and future" talk.
That matters if you are discussing the past. Obviously, in the past, IU has been a top program in the country.

That doesn't really do much for you going forward though.
i mean, clearly you and I aren't like "typical" fans in our respective fan bases, however, I have many purdue peers (man that sounds funny), who seem to think that national championships are irrelevant, and think that Purdue has a more esteemed history than Indiana.
Death to Signatures.

Well those people are stupid homers.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I've lived in indiana all my life and never known what a "hoosier" is......unless it has a definition stop using it.....It makes just as much sense as "boiler up".
Then let's stop talking about a Purdue national championship....until it has a definition.
a) who is talking about a Purdue NC and b) what the hell are you saying? I just think it's funny to hear a fan base get going about a cheer of another team...talk about petty.
you're making fun of a school mascots.. talk about petty...
I only got going becasue someone was talking about how stupid boiler up was becasuse they didn't know what it meant. I am done with this discussion.

So, Mr. Boilermaker, you are saying that 'Hoosiers' is a bad nickname?

Not everyone can be a worker who produces steel fabrications from plates and sections. What was your second choice....the Purdue Plumbers?

There is actually a good story about how that came to be the mascot but I won't go into here. It's actually pretty easy to find.

Yeah, having a storied program means nothing moving forward in terms of recruiting......I'm sure there have been ZERO kids that committed to IU(since 87) after seeing 5 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS hanging in the rafters. You are right.......the past does no good.
