Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Since Michigan just beat Minnesota, there are 8 teams in the Big Ten that are .500 or better in conference play. How many teams end up making the dance?

I currently see 6 making it.

Michigan State, Purdue, and Illinois are definetly in.

Minnesota, Ohio State, and Wisconsin will get in.

Michigan would need a damn good finish, and I currently don't see Penn State getting in.

I said 5: Mich St, Purdue, Ohio St, Illinois, and Minnesota, as locks. Realistically we could get 6, but I think Penn St, Wisky, and Michigan all have to fight over the one spot. Honesrly I think Wisky gets it.

I think 7 are gonna get it. Penn State and Wisconsin squeeze in to go with MSU, Purdue, Illinois, Ohio State and Minnesota.

I'd almost bet, if MSU was seeded correctly, that no BT sniffs the sweet 16

It's hard to say because there are so many mediocre major conference teams this year. The SEC is horrible, the Big 12 isn't a whole lot better, and the BT is just plain overrated. If you just measure a team by quality of play, there aren't many BT teams that should make the tournament......and certainly none higher than a 4 seed.

MSU and Purdue are the only teams that actually deserve a spot in the tourney, and in any other year neither team would be good enough to be a 4 seed or higher. Illinois will get in based on this years horrid depth of good teams. I really don't think any of the other teams deserve to be in, but I'm guessing 2 or 3 of MINN/WISC/OSU/MICH/PENN ST will get in. If MSU wins out(including BTT), they could potentially get a 1 seed and become the first 1 to lose to a 16. A lot of it will depend on whether the conference leader wins their postseason tournament.

I'll go with 5 teams making it. MSU, PU, ILL, WISC, MINN

lol

Your 4 seeds from last year when college basketball "wasn't down":

Vanderbilt (26-7)
Pitt (26-9)
Washington St (24-8)
UCONN (24-8)

MSU and Purdue could have beat all 4 of those teams. And I've already went through all of the mediocre teams from last year that made it. But I'll give you a refresher course:

22-11 Oklahoma was a 6 seed, 19-14 Arizona was a 10, 18-12 UK was an 11 (lol), 18-13 Oregon was a 9 (even bigger lol), 20-11 Kansas State was an 11, 20-12 Nova was a 12, 21-11 USC was a 6, and a 6 loss team from the Sun Belt conference got an at-large bid.

Mediocre teams get in every year. Get a new horse to beat.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I hear that basketball is so down they are only inviting 47 teams this year.

They would still all suck. We should just cancel the NCAA tournament and watch games from previous tournaments during March Madness.
