I just made my own skyline coney dogs for the first time for my 2 roommates and I and it was absolutely AMAZING. One of my roommates is from Chicago, and he said that it absolutely dominated Chicago hot dogs, which I suppose is a big compliment. Probably the best thing I have actually cooked this year other than some baby back ribs I made for my roommates birthday. Anyways, if you haven't had Skyline Chili, get your ass to the Cincinnati area and have some! It will change your life lol |

Skyline Recipe this is the one I used. After the chili is done, grill some hot dogs, put them on a bun, put a little bit of mustard on there, then put the chili on the hot dog, then put a lot of shredded cheese on there, and if you want, put some diced onions on top. it's amazing. |

I make Cincinnati style chili quite a bit. Secret is in the cinnamon. Try substituting cumin for chili powder....don't need to use as much cumin as you would chili powder, but the combination of cumin and cinnamon is really good.

The recipe I have is a little different, but I have no doubt this one is good too. Definitely worth the time it takes to make it. BTW, I'm going to catch a Red's game this summer, so I'll get to try out the real stuff. |

The hot sauce that they have at the real skylines is what makes it for me. I've never tried to make it for myself. I guess I've aways figured you can't get better than perfection so why try? |
