Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Tom Crean is the greatest coach ever. He will win a National Title with VJ3 and Williams. They will have under ten wins as Frosh and over 30 as seniors. IU is right on the brink of being a dynasty
This may be the most logically sound thing you've ever posted.

Lars I can see 20 next year for IU

16 regular season a Thursday win in the BTT

and three NIT wins is 20. I think that is very possible

I bet IU plays an very easy preseason to get them to 10 wins 6-12 in conference.

then the 4 postseason wins

Speaking of non-conference games for next year. Who will we have? Are there any contracts from this year that carry over to next year? Kentucky is a given, and one ACC team for sure, maybe Gonzaga again?

I agree 20 is very doable for next year. His 2nd and 3rd years will be difficult to achieve unless D Wade has a younger brother.

How does one predict this many wins when you have never seen half of the team play a college basketball game? Who transfers? Who gets better? Who regresses? Who doesn't make it to campus? Which recruits adjust to college basketball well? Which adjust bad?

I'm all about being excited for your future, thats great. But how can you project wins without seeing the team play or a schedule? Heck, you could see a schedule and still not know how many wins.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Easy cam, you just throw out some numbers that you think sound good. Notice no one had the number of wins go DOWN one year? What about something like 19, 27, 25?

Hard to argue with DC here. Very hard to argue with that.

Its impossible to tell. In Crean's 3rd year (or 2nd year of these predictions), you will have 6 sophomores who you have never seen play in college up to this point, 2 freshman who you have never seen play in college up to this point, and you don't know which '08 guys will transfer.

Without knowing any of this knowledge, how could you project 27 wins? 27 wins is quite a few wins.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but its absolutely impossible to know. After next season, I'd have no arguments over trying to make a prediction because you would have seen the majority of players that will make up that team. The recruiting class looks good on paper, but you have no idea how it will turn out.

I wasn't projecting anything, and have no desire to. Just giving an example of a possible win total scenario where we have fewer wins than the previous season which no one seemed to predict...like it wasn't even an optionn.
