I was just joking around, you can say what you want. Purdue doesn't deserve a shot at #1, they aren't that good. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Are there more than 5 teams that have played consistently enough to guarantee them a spot over Purdue? My point is, everyone has been getting knocked off lately and ranking are just opinions. Do you REALLY know if UCLA is better than Purdue if they havent played each other on a neutral court? It is peoples opinions, and you know what is said about opinions. (I was just using UCLA as an example, NO need to start throwing out random stats) |

Random stat Purdue has beaten a top ten team this season UCLA has yet to beat a ranked team I didn't think so in Oct but with a healthy Hummel Purdue beats UCLA |

From the games I've watched, I think Duke, UCONN, Pitt, and UNC are definitely better than Purdue. OU beat us, even though it was relatively close, but I still think they are better. Wake's athleticism would be a poor matchup. Thats 6 teams I definitely think are better. I think if Hummel had stayed healthy, we could be sitting at 24-3 and have a legit claim, but thats not the case. I'm okay with where we are. My expectations for the season are still very much attainable, and I'm excited for the rest of the season. I just don't think we deserve the #1 spot at all. |

Quality could refer to entertainment value. Closer games are more fun to watch so more parity in college basketball could then be viewed as a better quality than less parity. |

I think the teams fighting for bubble spots are better than the teams fighting for bubble spots last year. 18-13 Oregon was a 9 seed at large team last year. UK with 18 wins made the tournament. |

Alabama 02-03. reached #1 in the country, lost as a 10 seed to who? You guessed it, #7 seed IU! .... then Pitt proceeded to kick our ass in the second round. Edited by timpickett22, Feb 25 2009, 12:18 PM.
