Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Hoosiers add walk-on to roster

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Mike Santa will not have to fetch uniforms and hand out towels to Indiana basketball players anymore. The second-year team manager is joining the Hoosiers on the bench, as a reserve guard.

Coach Tom Crean promoted Santa on Wednesday night for the Hoosiers' game against Northwestern. Santa, a 5-foot-9 guard from Huntington, Ind., was wearing No. 1.

Eventually, Crean may add another manager, Brandon Profitt, to the roster.

"We have needed Mike and Brandon to step in many times for our drills and scout team situations and they bring a great deal of competitiveness and energy to our practices," Crean said in a statement issued by the school. "Unfortunately, Brandon is hurt right now. But we like the idea of having Mike with us and suiting up."

Seriously, has this ever happened in a Division I program?

I hear that other teams are asking for Santa to come and be on their scout team when the play IU. They feel that a 5'9" team manager is the perfect guy to simulate Daniel Moore.

A benefit not pointed out very much about next year's class besides just game contributions will be in practices where Crean will be able to go 10-12 deep with actual D1 players. Practice is where you get better, right now Prtichard is going against Jobe and Taber to get better.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Whatever happened to Evan White? I know he started the year wearing #1 as a walk-on from Harding I think.

I'm convinced Mike could actually fly with those ears if he ran fast enough.

Different site says he left the team to focus on academics. Thought he was at IU on academic schollie anyways so this might make since. I don't know?
