Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Found a link. WOW. There have been some great recruits to come through here. It would be fantastic to have an "in". Maybe that's the whole reason for the Williams committment....

That is a pretty impressive list. Though to clarify, i think Joe Johnson only played with them one year - and i don't think it was the full year either. He came up through the Arkansas wings program. either way, impressive list.

Supposedly only a handful of his games were reported to maxpreps. Apparently only his 'mediocre' games. I'm not sure why his coach would lie about his stats, since any local newspaper close to the school would be able to call him out on it immediately.

Apparently he's an NBA All-Star who will score more points than anyone in the history of the B10.

And he was offered scholarships by two schools.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

actually, Calbert Cheaney, Guyton and Haston were all very lightly recruited.

and they didn't have to visit Dr. Rowinski to improve.

So now every lightly recruited player that commits to IU will become those players. And every lightly recruited player by Purdue will suck?

On his son’s decision to commit to Indiana:

“He was recently offered, but we had been in communications with Indiana since July. Roshown McLeod coached him last summer and Coach Crean hired McLeod to be an assistant coach and my son really, really liked two things: Indiana and he had a good relationship with Coach McLeod. He did all of his research, so this wasn’t a hasty decision. He knows a lot about the physical therapist program in which he wants to study. We went on the Web Site and researched the school. We know it’s cold up in that area (laughs). Everything that it offered was good. We looked at some games on the TV last season. So this was not they came to see him one time and he made a hasty decision. It was well thought out with David and the entire family.”

If I'm not mistaken, this is a school that plays top notch competition and has produced players such as Dwight Howard and Josh Smith. At the least it would be nice to have some inroads there.
I agree, but I am smelling BS on the 21/11 line. Go to MaxPreps...game results are VERY detailed there. Go to jacksonville.com, run a search and you'll see he was an 11 point scorer. You simply can't ever get straight answers from these 'basketball factory' type of private schools...which is also why we can't ever really get any reliable information on Muniru.
From what I have read, he averaged 11 for his high school team and the 21/11 are his averages on his AAU team.

Thanks for the info. I've also recently heard that we've been involved since last July and that Crean has seen him play multiple times.

I cant decide what my favorite IU homerism of all time is...that Mike White was the next Charles Barkley, or the fat kid that transferred along with JaMarcus Ellis (i cant remember his name anymore) and that he was supposed to be the next Shaquille O'Neil. I am still smothered in laughter every time I think about those comparisons.

That's what his coach says...but MaxPreps has every single one of his First Coast stats game by game.

http://www.maxpreps.com/florida/basketball/first-coast-(jacksonville)/david-williams/stats.aspx?athleteid=6013adde-4862-4669-8d8f-94a34a08b932&ssid=08e31156-1f2d-4c08-b687-afb41d9f9601&urpath=,local,player

The Jacksonville.com site is a local Jacksonville online newspaper and in the area leaders, it had Williams averaging 11.9 ppg 12 games into Williams' junior season...I highly doubt that both MaxPreps with it's incredibly detailed box scores plus a local online site would simply make up numbers for Williams.
