Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Don't you mean Faux news? They are as bad as CBS, just in a different direction.
Sadly, you've bought into the lies, my friend.
Yeah. Back at 'cha. Next time I hear FOX news insinuating to me that social issues are more important to my voting peer group than financial issues, I will think of you. Huzzah for the 'culture war'. Not only does it sell advertising, it also disenfranchises me and voters who share my beliefs because my party has been taken over by those that want their social agenda enforced.

Did you know that serial killers happen because they are pushed to the wall by political correctness against true conservatives? Some at FOX news do. Thank goodness Bill O'Reilly acted as the voice of reason, because Glen Beck was really going off the deep end with that train of thought.

None of the broadcast media, and very little of the print media out there is worth my time. There are exceptions to the rule, but not many.
The "culture war" is real, and the left has won most of the major battles the last few decades. Although I'm technically part of the pro-choice side, I believe abortion is a horrible choice for most mothers. But this is for another thread...

Fox is the only major media outlet that regularly reports news that doesn't cast The Mythia in a positive light. A power hungry government unchecked by the MSM is a very scary situation.

We have a popular president, and democrats control both houses. We desperately need a sensible and credible opposition. But that credible opposition should be in the House and in the Senate. Instead we end up with Jim Inhofe and Joe Barton making the whole party seem like a bunch of uneducated knuckle draggers. Fox news preaching the culture wars, when there are much bigger fish to fry (Waxman-Markey, the bailouts, stimulus money, and socialized medicine), is not helping very much. And then you get my house member missing all these votes because his drunk ass is in rehab. I currently do not have representation in Washington. The culture wars are not worth fighting. The economic ones are. I am pissed off. I want my party back.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I've never heard of Jim and Joe. I get to hear from devoted leftists like Jim McDermit here in Seattle. It sucks. I don't want to hear the only MSM voice attempting to expose Obama's frauds (Cap and Trade, the bailouts, stimulus money, and socialized medicine, etc, etc, etc) being marginalized as "Faux News."

Lars,

The Cultural war was lost in entertainment. Movies and Television changed the values over the years. I believe MTV was the lefts most productive weapon.

Got it. Fox News is the only MSM who reports the truth.

Funny, I thought you were a true conservative, Lars, and not a neo-con.

Please don't distort my words, Brum. Fox News is the only MSM outlet presenting alternative view points, and not lauding The Mythia as being god-like. That's far from only reporting "the truth."

I'm not very well versed in the definition of a "neo-con." What are the key beliefs that add on the "neo" prefix?

It's a fact that the liberal view point is represented regularly on Fox News. There are conservatives and liberal opinions discussed, and viewers can make up their own mind. Although I tend to agree with conservatives more, there are times when I think liberals make the better argument.

I don't watch much of Shephard Smith, but my dad likes him, and voted for Kerry and can't stand Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter. I don't think Smith shows much of a political agenda.

Shepard Smith is practically the only reason to watch Fox News.

Joe Scarborough is on MSNBC. Guess that makes them balanced as well, huh?

brum, I'm not speaking for Lars on this one, but when I bitch about people buying into the MSM, I'm not really referring to many of us (maybe sirbri & NLA), but none of us are the "average voter". If every voter spent as much time on balanced political message boards as we do learning about issues...etc, the MSM would not be a factor. My guess is that people like us make up well less than 1% of the voting population wouldn't you think?

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.
