Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

It's a fact that the liberal view point is represented regularly on Fox News. There are conservatives and liberal opinions discussed, and viewers can make up their own mind. Although I tend to agree with conservatives more, there are times when I think liberals make the better argument.

I don't watch much of Shephard Smith, but my dad likes him, and voted for Kerry and can't stand Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter. I don't think Smith shows much of a political agenda.
Joe Scarborough is on MSNBC. Guess that makes them balanced as well, huh?
I watched Joe a few years ago, (maybe on MSNBC?), and recall he became famous after the 2000 election. I'll never forget Nancy Pelosi wondering why people thought the military vote would favor Bush, and Joe couldn't stop laughing. But I digress...

You can get a good picture about which way a MSM outlet leans by looking at the makeup of their workers, and the coverage different stories get. It's a fact that a high percentage of ABC/NBC/CBS/NYT/WP workers are Democrats, so that view point will naturally filter out into their reporting. Like Bernie Goldberg asked, "What does a fish say when you ask if it's wet?"

Trick question. Fish can't speak, and do not understand simple English questions.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

No one on here references MSNBC...and there is very little reference to any MSM sources. You are the one referencing MSM the most in the form of Fox News....so who are you crapping about people buying into MSM?
brum, I'm not speaking for Lars on this one, but when I bitch about people buying into the MSM, I'm not really referring to many of us (maybe sirbri & NLA), but none of us are the "average voter". If every voter spent as much time on balanced political message boards as we do learning about issues...etc, the MSM would not be a factor. My guess is that people like us make up well less than 1% of the voting population wouldn't you think?
My point is simple: if you are going to continually harp on the MSM yet then reference one who tends to side with your opinion more often than not, you're a hypocrit. The fact that Lars doesn't consider Fox to be a biased outlet shows that individual bias.

So in essence, Lars is complaining about people who buy into the MSM, yet he is one of them.

If I wanted to promote a liberal agenda to try to change a conservatives mind, I certainly wouldn't be linking up MSNBC because at its' base it is obviously liberally slanted. I agree that the media has a more liberal than conservative slant, but Lars would have you believe that every MSM station is liberal except Fox, who is 'balanced.' Sorry, that's not the case.

Come to Oklahoma, we had one of the hottest Junes on record. I wish we would see some 63 degree days, I am tired of running the AC.

Message from Mike Pence about 1/2 hour ago.

Quote:

National Energy Tax being debate this morning on House floor... A vote is expected on this so-called, "Cap and Trade" legislation by mid afternoon. Over 300 pages added to this bill around 3am this morning. We haven't even been given a chance to read the bill. I'll be fighting against it and advocating for a positive alternative, the American Energy Act.

We HAVE TO stop the practice of voting on legislation that hasn't had a chance to be read. This is a disgraceful practice, which is currently being done by the Democrats...yes this is partisan. With the majority, they are going to keep ramming shit through with no regard for those millions of citizens represented by a Republican in the House. :pissed:
reminds me of the patriot act. "voting on legislation that hasnt been read." welcome to the new world order. laugh all you want and call me a crazy old man...its here and its staring us all in the face...and goddamnit i tried to warned every one of you about it.
trouble, let me pat you on the back a little harder. Yesterday after Cap & Tax passed, Obama said the following

At the White House, Obama said the bill would create jobs, and added that with its vote, the House had put America on a path toward leading the way toward "creating a 21st century global economy."

"21s century global economy" ....it is getting harder and harder to refute your theories trouble and Obama is now brazen enough to begin articulating it.
Oh for fuck's sake. The 'global economy' has been here for years.

If we weren't all so stupid with our 'we can do whatever we want to the environment' philosophy, there'd be no need for this bill in the first place.
the global economy has been here for years, but a governmentally forced "global tax" has not, but with Cap & Trade it will be. Who has the "we can do anything we want to the environment" attitude? Please explain why you think this bill will actually help the environment?
A little more concrete proof that Global warming - Cap & Trade are really aimed at creating a global government. Listen to 1:10 of this clip.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.
