Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

so posting links to things that factually happened is bad? links that call out lobbyist and cronyism is bad? if you read the link, you should be able to make an educated decision about the link for yourself........i've posted links from many different sites........cherry picker.

On this page you've posted links to op-ed pieces from politico, foxnews, and Pat Dollard, all right leaning (at the minimum) sites. That's a pattern.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I started this thread just to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and look where it ran off too. I think everyone has too much time on their hands during the summer. I think it is interesting, and please feel free to tell me I am wrong, (as if any of you wouldn't tell me I was wrong), that this post really brings out the dichotomy of political views in the US today. Even though the members on this board are similarly educated and have many things in common, there are extremists on both sides of the isle and a large majority that share the same basic tenets but argue about the details. As Spock would say "Fascinating". Any way, I am glad everyone did have a safe and happy holiday. Having said that, I am sure we could argue that it was neither safe or happy or whether it should even be a holiday. ^o)

To say America is politically divided is overstating it, IMHO. We are more alike than we are different, as you allude to. What we argue about is trivial in the grand scheme of things. Our ability to argue the small stuff without coming to arms is why we are who we are.

Yeah, a pattern of calling out all the fuck-ups that we vote into office.
