Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

LMAO. This is classic. For anyone who doesn't want to comb through seven pages, I present to you, OurHoosierBoard.com's Q & A with Unbathed:

Q: Why isn’t IU’s recruiting class in the top 10 now?
Unbathed: IU’s recruiting class doesn’t include Rivers dipshit!

Q: Yeah, like Rivers makes that much of a difference?
Unbathed: Rivers as a junior is better than most top 100 guards as freshmen. OWNED!

Q: Do you still think IU’s ’07 class was much better than Purdue’s ’07 class?
Unbathed: It was. How many of those Turdue recruits are scoring 15 a game in the NBA? BANG!

Q: Do you think a guy who plays one mediocre season and sits out a year is going to have that kind of impact?
Unbathed: Rivers as a junior with final 4 experience will have more first year impact than some 75-100 ranked freshman. He will be the team leader this year - mark it down

Q: So Kramer is not a leader because he averages 5 ppg, and now you’re saying Rivers will be the leader with his 1.3 ppg as a freshman and 2.5 ppg as a sophomore while committing as many turnovers as assists, and shooting about 35% from the field (26% from three) and under 50% from the foul line?
Unbathed: My expectations are for Rivers to be a good leader, solid defender, make the open J, not turn the ball over and make free throws. He’s shown he can do these things.

Q: Kramer has been doing those things much better than Rivers since his freshman season at Purdue.
Unbathed: Rivers also played on loaded teams and wasn't asked to score and even play that much.

Q: ALL of Kramer’s offensive numbers are far better than Rivers, so how do you expect him to be a better offensive leader than Kramer?
Unbathed: see, this is the bullshit I'm talking about - KRAMER fucking sucks on offense. His jumpshot is a joke for a 6'3 white guard. don't give me this crap about "consentrating on offense". you fuckheads think he's so much better than he really is. as for his defense- OVERRATED. go review the Duke tape and count how many times his ass got beat from over playing and trying to pad defensive stats by over playing passing lanes and going for steals instead of sticking with his man. His defense is a mirage regardless of whatever bogus awards he's won.

Q: If Kramer “fucking sucks” on offense, what does that say about Rivers?
Unbathed: Rivers won't average more than 4-5 pts/game. his offense is not why he's at IU.

Q: No one here claimed Kramer was an offensive juggernaut. You described how fucking great Rivers was going to (bigger impact than top 100 freshman) and have good leadership, defense, etc (everything except offense). Kramer is better than Rivers in every category (including offense) and shoots over 40% from the field, and he sucks?
Unbathed: the only reason he's shooting in the 40% range is from layups. Rivers is a much better ball handler than Queen will ever be. I don't think I've ever seen that queer dribble with her left hand.

Q: So I guy that can drive to the hoop and get the team easy layups is a bad offensive player?
Unbathed: its called getting a junk basket here and there. Rivers threw many fancy passes that were dropped by his clumsy teammates

Q: I thought Georgetown was stacked?
Unbathed: they were. his NBA level passing was too good for college players

Q: I'm assuming the reason he was the 8th guy off the bench was because he was too good for his teammates?
Unbathed: I fully expect him to be drastically improved after taking a year off to work on his shooting.

Q: Winning B10 DPOY, 3 time All-Defense team, and making the AllB10 team. Kramer >>>>>>> Rivers, and its not really very close
A: That may be true, but IU doesn’t expect him to be the third best player on the team.

Q: No, no, not your 3rd best, just your TEAM LEADER
Unbathed: ***crickets***

Q: The sad part is that Rivers really may be the 3rd best player for IU, and thats not a good thing at all.
Unbathed: Watford, Creek, Mr. Elbows, Vag 3, Elston, will all be better than Rivers. perhaps Mr. Double Double will too

From what I've heard, it will be hard for Copabianco to do that from the bench. I don't think he'll see many minutes.

Now I understand the reason behind Rivers' shooting woes: His NBA level shooting ability is too good for college venues.

The three point line is too close in college.

Rivers' 46% FT shooting was because the college game was too boring for him.

Rivers' 46% FT shooting was because the college game was too boring for him.
Rivers has unlimited range. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor.

It's making them that is the hard part.

I expect to see a lot of buzzer beater shots put up by Rivers...because that's really the only situation he's shown where he should be shooting it. If the ball is in his hands and one second is left on the shot clock, shoot it. He's in there to play defense at one end and get out of the way on offense.

There's really nothing wrong with that role...plenty of valuable role players have served it. It's Kramer's primary role.

Nice to get recognition, 2nd Top-10 class by Painter in his 4 years.

(obviously all the recruits haven't committed yet, and some guys will go up and some guys till go down, but I'd expect to stay in the top-15 either way)
I didn't read anything but the original post, but I thought it might be interested to find a comparison from last year, since there's a lot of undecideds.

2010 Purdue commits (National rank)
PG Terone Johnson (46)
SG Anthony Johnson (100)
C Travis Carroll
PF Donnie Hale

2009 Minnesota commits (National rank)
SF Royce White (19)
SF Rodney Williams (100)
PG Justin Cobbs
PF Trevor Mbakwe

Minnesota's class ended up at #24 last year.
