And this coming from a guy who gets annoyed by ND and can't stand them as much as anyone, but they are going to be pretty good this year, especially offensively. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Well, i would rub it in a bit, but i know how much it must have pained you guys to say that. PLus i don't want to jinx it. I have to say though that i was more impressed with the defense than i was the offense. I expected ND to be able to score. I didn't expect them to pitch a shut-out against a team that was returning most of its offensive firepower from one of the best statistical offenses in the country from last year. On a positive note though, you guys must be happy today. I couldn't see the game but from what i have read and the stats i have seen, you guys looked ok. Maybe you will be more competitive than you thought. |

Agree, have to be more impressed with the D, Nevada was ranked last against the pass last year. Not a tough schedule, anything less than 9 wins would be a huge dissapointment if i was a ND fan. |

I was definitely expecting less out of purdue today than what transpired. however, it was against toledo. elliot's inexperience showed, our secondary got beat deep a couple of times, and the linebackers seemed to leave the slant over the middle open. This win just makes me a little more confident in a 6-win season. |

"Let's not start sucking each others dicks quite yet" - Harvey Keital, Pulp Fiction Weis has shown for the most part during his career that he recruits enough talent to beat teams like this in spite of coaching. I'd wait til they at least play an "ok" MSU team or even a probable much improved Mich team before making any judgements. And don't forget they still have to at least look good against USC to deserve any respect, and even a rebuilding BC will be a threat, because they ALWAYS are, they play out of their fucking brains against ND |

I expected ND to be better. The offense is stacked at the skill positions, and the athletes on defense are getting older and more adapted to the college game (plus the DC is very good). Clausen/Allen/Tate/Floyd/Randolph are pretty damn good at the skill spots, and if the line holds up, they'll be able to do their thing all year. I was pleasantly surprised about the offense. Our coaches have been quietly confident about the offense all off-season, but sometimes its hard to decipher coach speak from the truth. Elliot still scares me at QB, but the line is coming together nicely (which shouldn't be a surprise considering who our HC is) and I think our skill guys can make enough plays to win us ball games. Our guys from the South are pretty solid. If we had this kind of line play the past two years, we would have been a pretty successful team. I still expect ND to beat us by at least two scores unfortunately. |

With the disparity of talent on either side of the field, if they don't beat us by 2 scores then they either underachieved or we overachieved, plain and simple. |
