Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I thought it was football season? We can start talking about basketball if you want UB, and our preseason top ten ranked Boilers if you want.

Sure, what do you want talk about? How Morgan Burke can actually hire a good coach and staff, and do it the right way w/o scandal? How they can instantly come in and start recruiting good talent and putting it to good use? Be jealous, its ok.

Call it swiss cheese if you want. They will make adjustments in the coming games to stop the pass in the middle. They stopped the run, which was the concern. I know they can stop the pass, or contain it at least, and it doesn't freaking matter when 1) the other team only scores 21, regardless of how many yards they get and 2) we score 50+ points.

And I like how you bash us for having ND come and swear it will be full of ND fans. Yeah right, have you ever been to a game at Purdue? Probably not, and for sure not a ND game. At least we can get a rivalry game with ND year in/year out, which is more than I can say for IU.

I've actually been to a Purdue/Notre Dame game at Purdue, and the Purdue/ND split was about 50/50. It was quite awhile ago and I went with some friends from Purdue....some of which wore Notre Dame gear to the game.

Screw ND football.

I was at the ND/PU game in South Bend last year, and it was easily 40% Purdue fans. Well there was one Oklahoma fan. My wife wore an OU sweatshirt and you wouldn't believe the crap she caught from people who had never went to any college, let alone Notre Dame.

Screw ND football.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Was this before, or during, the Tiller era?

I have to agree with UB on this one (except the jealous part). All those guys were douches, especially the one guy who made an entirely inaccurate assessment of Watford. I'll bet he wouldn't be downplaying his talent if he had committed to Purdue. And the guy who said Sampson, the gift that keeps on giving. Isnt it in the state of Indiana and the Big 10's best interest for Purdue AND IU to be good. Seems like he likes us being a cellar-dweller. Don't see how that makes the rivalry any fun.

Purdue fans wanted to honor their coach...the one who's actually beaten quality opponents, despite the fact that it's been a while.

Nope, no reason to lie. ND fans were still stinging from a 3-9 season the year before, and it was Tiller's last year. You had a lack of people who wanted to see Notre Dame and several Purdue Fans wanting to give Tiller a good farewell. Tickets were easy to come by. I sat 14 rows from the field on about the 20 yardline with tickets I purchased at face value.

The last time Chuck beat a quality opponent as a Gomer was in the 1970s.
