Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

OK, I've slept off my drunken rage and am trying to think clearly.

You guys are being way too critical right now. This is a completely new staff and the amount of talent we put on the field versus what ND put on the field speaks volumes. This IS a rebuilding year, first year for a new staff and new players are starting to come in.

Yes, some play calling was questionable, the penalties were unacceptable (some were unwarranted, I swear ND was false starting a lot and not getting caught) and our secondary was outmatched overall. ND has way more talent at all positions. Our QB is not that experienced, and it shows.

That being said, we lost the game on a 4th down w/ 30 seconds to go to a very good football team. Be positive about this, for a first year staff this is an acceptable result after looking back at it. Just wait a year or 2 and this team will be much improved. There are bad things that happened of course, shit that we didn't want to see, but there were also a lot of good things that happened.

Any thoughts on the poor attendance? Only 59k fans there against ND for a night game. It was the first time the ND game wasn't a sellout since 1963.

1) Everyone knows its a rebuilding year and doesn't expect much
2) Its a night game, so people have been tailgating all day. Probably a couple thousand passed out in the parking lot or in jail

A new staff doesn't mean an inexperienced staff, incapable of making solid decisions on the field. This isn't supposed to be on the job training for coaches.

It isn't like this is a young team. We have some youth at some skill positions, but the defense and O-line has been around awhile.

I thought the D really made good halftime adjustments. When Tory had to step up and play CB, he showed how to defend the end around off the wildcat by pushing up the field and forcing Tate back and allowing the rest of the D to pursue for the tackle. I thought Kerrigan and Gooden really stepped up in the second half. The last drive leaves a bad taste for everyone about the defense, but it was the coaches who set the prevent defense. The tackling is still terrible.

And as I said before, been watching this shit for 30 years. It doesn't change. We may have good years, maybe win a bowl. But the teams NEVER overachieve,NEVER win the game that puts you over the top, NEVER end up with the season they should have.

BoilerupAT,

I could be patient if we sucked because of talent. We could so easily be 3-1 but do to mistakes and motivation we are 1-3.

They team was not ready against N Illinois, last night penalties, both a sign of lack of discipline. penalties cost us points and handed ND the first TD. We had them stopped and a taunting flag gives them a first down. That is complete lack of control. FUCK Purdue is not a bad team just an undisciplined team. The timeout and prevent D just really topped of a night of disbelief.

As Purdue Losing to NIU should never be acceptable. I understand we came of a heartbreaking lose at oregon and then had NIU come in but never at home should we lose to NIU. I refuse to believe they are the better football team. As far as last nights came to call the TO with 36 seconds left was just the most bonehead thing i've seen from any team. ND looked confused why help the other team? Oregon I put off as an acceptable lose we went to the west coast to a very very difficult building to play and got beat that is acceptable. Not being ready vs NIU and the bone head penalties vs ND are not even acceptable from a first year staff.

I am tired of losing these games. I mean you think we'd come out on top once in awhile but nooooo that is just to much to ask for from a football program. Im past the drunk stage and am now on the i can't believe we lost another close fucking game kick. Jesus this is what 12 points in our three loses?
yep. was it '05 or something when we lost 4 games by a total of 11 points or something?
That was '04. We missed FGs of less than 40 yards in each and every game that we lost by 3 or less points.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Dude, I am just as fucking pissed off about all this as you are, but I am trying to be positive and find some kind of silver lining.

Let them drive the field like that call a timeout for them
that's really the only bad coaching i saw, and if BV is right, that defensive coach better be running some laps tomorrow. haha.

if anything weis coached horribly, and was lucky to escape.
Looked to me like Hope was just as flabbergasted as anyone when the clock stopped, so I really doubt that he's the one who called it.

The silver lining is that this loss will keep Dough-mer around a little longer.
he's 4-1 against turdue

For two reasons:

1) He went 2-0 against Purdue with Ty's players while Tiller was daydreaming about ice fishing.

2) Blue chip recruits have been coming to Gomerland under the false assumption that they can compete at a national level with Dough-mer. Don't be surprised if that changes in coming years.

Unbathed - What happened to "ND will name the score against Hopeless and Turdue"? Did Dough-mer plan for the game to come down to the last 30 seconds?

its called having a QB with turf toe, the starting RB out and their AA Wide receiver OUT.
