Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

7-3. Nice stand by the D to keep it to a field goal.

Perfect start.

I officially have no idea what to expect from this team on a week to week basis.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Big stop there, stay up 21-3 on a goal line stand.

Any team that runs from the shotgun on 4th and goal a from about a foot deserves not to score.

Very puzzling play call there by Hope, IMO, after the big stop. With two minutes and change up 18 and the ball on their own two, I think it's time to run a couple plays to get out of the shadow and run the clock down some. Instead, they throw and get picked and now it's a 21-10.....and Purdue fumbles the ensuing kickoff. Obviously you can't blame the fumble on the call, but I simply don't see the advantage Purdue gained by passing there.

Gary Nord calls the plays. I didn't mind taking a shot deep, don't like running a 7 yard slant there, would have rather seen him try to throw a go route of some sort.

And we just fumbled again. Mistakes are killing us. And our defense may pass out on the field.

Yeah, a deep route is okay...but a slant when they are going to be playing up on you I just don't get.

Didn't know that Nord calls the plays.

Although it's a horrific ending to the half, it could have been a whole lot worse if Northwestern had been able to put it in the end zone the last two times.

54 plays for Northwestern at half, 18 for Purdue.

JEEZUS CHRIST ANOTHER FUMBLE. They'll review it, but how in the hell are can you not be covering the ball up there?????

Sorry.
That was a stupid, stupid call. 18 seconds and they spiked it. They didn't deserve a TD there.

Well, in typical Purdue fashion, we've tried our best to give the game away. Our defense needs a breather big time, been on the field way too long.

Did you hear the cheer there as Elliot took the knee to end the half?

On another note, Purdue is going to have to get their defense off the field more in the second half. Unfortunately they don't have Manning/Clark/and Wayne, so you can't count on getting quick scores all of the time. I don't think I've ever heard of a team running 54 plays in the first half....I know I've never heard of a team losing with that many.

You mean Elliot/Valentin/Smith don't strike fear in the opponent's defense like Manning/Clark/Wayne?

I'm assuming the crowd was cheering the lack of a turnover. It had been awhile since we had run a play without doing so.

I hate being a Purdue football fan sometimes.

Being an IU fan, I can't sympathize. :sarcasm:
