In your words, Irving gave IU the Heisman. Don't worry, you got a 0* player and another rabbit chaser to replace Jobe when he graduates. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I'm concerned that IU might go a full decade without even getting past the second round. Only two more seasons to go. :D |

no I didn't. go re-read my recruiting summary. Crean gave Wes and the Irving family the Heisman. and IU will be just fine with 4 incoming recruits all much better than Turdue's best one.        |

lol Its funny you killed Painter for not getting much after the '07 class, what are you going to say when Crean has worse after his '09 class? And thats not even taking into consideration how much better the '07 class will turn out to be. Enjoy the middle of the B10. |

IU only has 2 scholies for 2010. He has already signed 2 top 75 for 2011. :owned: |

And with those 2 schollies Crean has gotten a zero star player and a player ranked in the 130s. You abused Painter for bringing in two 150 players and a zero star player after his big class, yet you will call Crean a God for bringing in one 150 player and a zero star player. I'm not really sure how you, who thinks IU should only aspire to be a top 5 team year in and year out, can be happy with what Crean is doing in recruiting. |

FWIW, this Illinois writer thinks Purdue leads for Egwu. http://illinihq.com/chats/2009/10/07/illinois_basketball_chat__pm_wednesday/ "I think Illinois or Purdue will get him. I can tell you he’s scheduled to meet with family and his coaches this afternoon to figure out where his recruitment stands. That doesn’t mean they will have a decision this week, but that's the plan right now. Last week, I would have said Nnana Egwu would commit to Illinois. If you're asking me today, I think he’s going to Purdue. That’s how quickly these things change, and it could very well change again. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ultimately chose Illinois. I know that neither side — Purdue and Illinois — is certain where he’s headed. And if that’s the case, no one else (except Nnana Egwu) is certain, either. There’s another angle at work here. This is the first time Bruce Weber-led Illinois and Matt Painter-led Purdue have gone head-to-head on a recruit. Now, this isn't a Weber vs. Painter thing, and it shouldn't be made out that way. There are always other factors in a recruit's decision. But it’s certainly a unique case. And it’s a first." |

yeah, luckily for us IU has no need for quality centers. they recruit for the 5 guard offense. |
