So what is wrong with the best 2009 basketball team in Indiana playing the second best basketball team in the state of Indiana? I mean we could have played Notre Dame or Evansville and really stunk up the place. |

yernuts I know you're kidding (at least I hope so) but your statement sums up the turdue fanbase perfectly: a myopic view on a state or regional basis. I don't think I've ever heard an IU fan comment nor care less about how their team stacks up on a state or regional basis. |

Painter didn't schedule Wake Forest; it's part of the ACC/B10 challenge. Alabama is bad, but it's on the road. For the schedule to be any good, Purdue is going to have to perform in the tourneys and face Tennessee in the finals. This Ball State game is awful, but it's not like Painter was the cause of it either. |

It should be a great state championship game for the state of Indiana. We could have paired up Valpo and Indiana State in the other game, and we would have had the state's top four teams together. |

IU fans are busy making Final Four predictions (see '08). They tend to forget that they have to get past the first round. |

The guy picked last in gym class
|
The game was originally scheduled to be played in California, but event organizers moved it to Fort Wayne. Coach Painter said "We think it is a great opportunity to see fans of the state of Indiana see an Indiana college play against a no talent guy....kind of like Breaking Loose or Rudy. And it's not the Hollywood version...in this version, Rudy isn't some midget trying to make it at big university; he's a mental midget who couldn't cut it at a junior college." |
