| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! It's not confidence in LSU...it's a lack of confidence in Alabama. In terms of offense, Alabama is coming off of three straight poor performances...more specifically, QB Greg McElroy has been HORRENDOUS. Last three weeks: 43 of 83, 359 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs. Meanwhile, Jordan Jefferson is coming off his best performance of the year. LSU is coming off their best performance of the year, a 31-10 drubbing of Auburn (which wasn't that close..it was 31-3 at the end of the third and Auburn scored a who cares touchdown with 3 seconds left in the game). Additionally, the second best back in the SEC behind Marc Ingram -- Auburn's Ben Tate -- was held to 67 yards on 18 carries against LSU, about half his normal yards/game. The big thing I would be worried about with Alabama is that they played poorly against Tennessee and now have a bye week before they play LSU....which will mean that they haven't played well in a game for three weeks when they play LSU. Rust could come into play. LSU plays Tulane, so they aren't really going to be game planning for them...they'll spend the same two weeks preparing for Alabama. I think a team playing a game, even against a poor opponent, is going to come into the game much more in sync than a team that is coming off of a bye week. Assuming LSU doesn't come down with some major injuries against Tulane, I really like their chances in Tuscaloosa. I know you said that you said that LSU might not score more than 17 points in Tuscaloosa...but I'm looking at an Alabama team that's averaged 16 points in their last two home games against South Carolina and Tennessee, and both the Gamecocks and Volunteers have given up more points/game than LSU. I expect and ugly, low scoring game....could come down to which team has a fluke play go their way. |

Sure. What's the bet? I only ask that I be allowed to pull out of the bet if Jefferson gets hurt against Tulane. |

The best thing that could happen is that several teams run the table. If there are five or six undefeated teams, maybe it will convince the NCAA that the BCS is played out, and a tournament format is needed. |
