Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Do you really think the issue is $75 grand?
Yes that may be part of it but, COME ON MAN
Of course it's not the entire issue, but to say he should come back because all of the guys who got rid of him are gone is ridiculous........if those guys are gone and the administration still won't pay back the money that is owed to him......how does that make the new administration any better than the old one?

There is no chance he comes back.

As i and Trouble have mentioned, if he decides to turn his back on all the fans that supported him through all this mess and all of the fans wanting him to return for his HOF ceremony, then I am done with this guy.
If you really can't let it go, when everyone at IU at the time his firing happened, are gone then forget about it.

I am a fan of the University first and foremost, i am very aware of what Coach Knight has done and appreciate all of that but at what point do you say to hell with him?
Second. He may have all sorts of issues with the university but he has no right to turn his back on his unbelievably loyal fans. This guys head may be even bigger than I thought, don't know if I can respect someone like that anymore.

He isn't turning his back on fans. If fans would come up with a big event to honor him without involving the university, I have a hard time believing that he wouldn't show up. Hell, take the 75 grand or whatever it was and rent out an arena and have a big ceremony for him. Do you think he wouldn't show up to that?

Good idea, why don't you lead the charge and start organizing something.

Make no mistake about it, the best coach in the history of Indiana University, and one of the greatest coaches in the history of college athletics will be there to be honored on Friday/Saturday.

I kind of figured this would happen. Its a little more blatant than I expected, but Bobs right...the problem is not with the Alumni, its with the school. If anything, Alumns have carried the school, using money out of their own pocket to pay for failures like mike davis and kelvin sanction. Thats more than anyone else has done.

The administration along with student agents destroyed Bobs career and happiness...you guys really dont know how much he loved it there in Bloomington. Hunting, fishing, his office (buying his jackets from my father-in-law's store in the early 70's =p, we had the best) and the atmosphere. Not to mention that nice library he funded for you little fucks to study in. And the other countless contributions he made to the school. Everyone makes it out to be like "Bob was just there because he could get away with whatever he wanted, since he won" well thats only slightly true. He loved the school and as he put it, "it ripped my fucking heart out" when he was ousted.

I certainly hold no ill will against him, and it would have made Bob seem even less of a man to take the check from Alums, like he could be bought or something. He's a man of principle, and that certainly wont change

I easily accept the fact that hes gone and Im thrilled to have Crean. But I always will regret what could have been if Bob wasnt forced out and IU and Knight hadnt had such an ugly divorce.

PS....THE OFFICIAL IU SEASON PREVIEW will be available soon...SUBSCRIBE TODAY!

well shit Fallen, maybe IU and the alums should honor him in some corn field in Bumfuck South Dakota so he won't really have to acknowledge IU nor set foot in Bloomington.

The guy's a small man.
