Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

Basketball season OFFICIALLY officially starts tonight. We need an NBA to discuss all the games an the like. Tonight's games:

CLE vs. Boston
Dallas vs. Washington
Portland vs. Houston
Champs vs. Chumps (LAL vs. LAC)

Personally, i think it's going to go
CLE (in a rout)
Dallas (blowout)
Portland (blowout)
Champs (blowout)

I think Boston could give Cleveland a game. The other 3 are set up to be yawners.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Is Bayless going to get any PT this year?

i don't know. for a few reasons i think the Cavs are going to win going away. the first being the Cavs' ridiculous record at home last year. secondly, the rajon rondo and glenn davis situations have been distractions, and thirdly it's garnett's first game back -- there's definitely going to be some rust there. the celts got beat by the pacers and a host of other mediocre/bad teams early in the year last season. i wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again this year.

Don't sleep on HOU, they played really well when Tmac and Yao went out last year. It will be interesting to see how Ariza fills in for Artest.

BOS should be able to handle CLE with their length, and they have veteran guys........later in the season it might swing the other way when the old guys get a little rundown. Rondo just turned down an extension and is apparently a beast now...playing for some big money.......he could be very dangerous this year.........who on CLE is going to handle him?

you're right about houston looking good without yao and mcgrady last year, but i don't see that trend continuing. i think houston will end up either lost in the middle of the pack, or epically bad. they could easily end up in the latter, but coaching will get them somewhere.

Rondo is the key to my fantasy team (along with the injury prone Jameer Nelson unfortunately). If he continues his development, and can become a 15/6/9 plus a steal a game guy, my team will be a handful.

Not Bill Simmons!!!!

I wish he would just give up talking about Boston sports plus the Clippers.

He said that LAC was the best situation for LeBron. Lots of young talent, big market, west coast weather, etc. It won't happen, but it would be interesting to say the least. He isn't going to the Knicks.

Simmons isn't a LAC fan, he has season tickets because he lives there and despises the Lakers. He is a BOS fan.

Of course he's not going to the Knicks.

Lots of young talent? Two players is lots of young talent? He needs to go where there is veteran talent that knows how to win in the playoffs. To be honest, I think Cleveland is currently as good of a situation for him as possible. He's got good complimentary pieces and they play pretty good team defense.

I'd take Cleveland, Portland, Dallas, and the Lakers as well in all those games. In terms of a prediction for the season, I would say the Lakers win the West and the Cavs probably win the East, meet in the finals, and the Lakers repeat...again. Don't watch much NBA, though.
