I don't know that Memphis is going to draw top tier talent anymore sans Calipari. I agree with you about Selby but what makes you think Kendrick goes to Memphis? He's from Georgia so its not necessarily a geography thing. Just curious of your thoughts on it. |

Have you seen Memphis' 2010 class? Its ranked #2 nationally right now with the #11, 12, and 66 players in the country committed. Memphis has been very involved in Kendrick's recruitment all along, and they are probably strongest right now (although that definitely can change). I also believe he went to their MM. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Gotcha. There wasn't meant to be any aggression in that post, by the way, I was legitimately wondering what you knew. |

Oh I know. If you don't follow recruiting, you probably wouldn't know that Memphis was doing so well recruiting after Calipari. Their new coach was a big time recruiter for UofA under Olsen and Memphis under Cal. Plus, the Memphis area is loaded with talent right now and he's doing a solid job of keeping it there. Now the question is if he can coach the talent when it gets there. He's never been a head coach in his life. |

The guy picked last in gym class
|
And at 31, he's incredibly young for a head coach. |

You are right, Memphis has been the strongest so far and he did attend their MM. Also, you are right that it can change. We were the frontrunner on Irving and once Duke got involved, then he dropped us like a hot potatoe. He is supposedly visiting IU this weekend. I haven't heard that officially yet, only that peegs posted it, which could be one of their gimmicks to sell their information. If he visits this weekend, just seeing the campus, Assembly Hall, and the new training facility could change his mind over Memphis. One other off topic note. It really surprises me that Memphis can land a #2 recruting class in 2010 without knowing if the guy can actually coach on the D1 level. Does anyone have any information on Kendrick visiting? |
