Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I have been looking at the countdown for along time now. IU and Purdue both play the litte sisters of the blind next week and BTN is not covering the exhibition games. I went to the website and they are PPV webcast.

Very disappointed.

I hope I wrong and misread something on the BTN website.

i'd care if i didn't have tickets. haha. seriously though, the fact that BTN used to broadcast those games for free online, and then they suddenly charge is B.S.

Rotel must have decided to stop funding the entire channel.

No, you didn't misread it. I signed up (that part is free) and looked at what games were on the pay-per-view (it's $2.99 per stream).

It appears for men's basketball that the exhibition games are streamed; in women's basketball, it appears that a lot of regular season games are (probably most of the ones that aren't live). Other than men's exhibition basketball games, I don't think that they've cut back on what they'll show live; the streamed games seem to be ones that they wouldn't have televised (with the exception of the men's exhibitions). They've got quite a few hockey, baseball, and volleyball streamed...but I really don't care about those.

Last year you could stream it on the BTN.com for free. Now you have to pay $2.99 for it, that is BS.

I dont see them getting many people to pay 2.99 for a preseason game.

Personally, I only watch the BTN during basketball season and on occasion for other sports. It wouldn't surprise if they could be in financial trouble.

i doubt they are in financial trouble, they've hired a ton of new on-air talent lately, and upgraded their studios. additionally, they've had a noticeable increase in ad sponsors. budgets may be tight, but EVERYONE is charging for online content these days.

I probably will. I'm interested in seeing the new guys play and it's worth $3 to me.

The truth is, I was surprised last year when they did show the exhibition games. I'm sure that the cost involved in showing a game that only the really, really, obsessed fans care about was losing them some money.

Its not the 3 dollars its that when i watched the games last year it was really slow and kept freezing on me. (Could have been my computer) Also i didnt think the picture was very clear so im just gonna wait a week a watch it live for free. I dont think anyone is dumb for paying the 3 dollars i just dont think many people will do it.

I am going to ask a stupid question, only because I am interested in watching it too. I have never paid for PPV ever. How do we pay for PPV for the BTN and what channel is it on? I have the DISH Network. Please advise.
