What makes you think that? |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

If we go 23-6, it'll be a disappointment. But it sounds like most people expect a disappointing season from Purdue, so we'll see. |

Yeah, but you were also disappointed when Purdue's football team didn't beat Illinois by three scores. Ask Michigan football fans what the true definition of disappointment is since they got beat by four scores by Illinois. |

The back is a very finicky area of the body and people who have back issues usually have them them for the rest of their life. Even if it's not the same injury and the old injury has completely healed. Once you start with back problem you are much more susceptible to getting more. Does all this mean Hummel will suffer through injuries this year? No. But I wouldn't be surprised if he missed a couple a games sporadically to let him keep his back fresh and healthy. |

Disappointment to you maybe. I'm not gonna assume we only lost games because we lacked Hummel. Sure, it hurt alot, but you never know what would have happened even if Hummel were healthy. 23-6 wouldn't be bad at all in my opinion. Going undefeated in the preseason is certainly possible. But then again, BC, Tenn and WV aren't exactly automatic wins. Not to mention we are at Ill, Minn, OSU, MSU (all of which are ranked or close to ranked). All Big ten road games are hard, and NW is a horrible matchup for us. They beat us at home last year, and choked away the game in Evanston. Mich could give us a hard game (unless Harris fouls out again.....). To think that we will win EVERY game we should and most tossups seems a little far fetched. Like I said, any given night the shooters could go cold, Hummel/Johnson could have foul trouble, etc. A lot of things can go wrong in one game and you lose to a worse team on paper. |

what I think is hilarious is that you turdue farm boys just assume Brokeback will be healthy all season. Here's a hint: he won't. |

I'd have to say that the odds are that UB's right. Back trouble isn't something that normally heals and goes away. He might not even miss any games, but the odds are that he'll at least have some games where it's affecting his play. |

He took very little time off in the summer and he played through the World University tryouts, training camp, and games without any trouble whatsoever. He also hasn't been limited in any way with regards to weight lifting, training, and practicing. Robbie Hummel's back is completely pain-free, the junior said on numerous occasions Tuesday, as did Painter. "I look at it as a non-issue," Painter said If the two people who it effects the most aren't worried about it, I'm not sure why it should be expected that he continues to struggle with it. |

You guys are all crazy if you think we will only have a few losses (like 3 or 4). This is a good BB team, but its OUR team. It still say PURDUE on the front of the jersey, remember. Until I see them in action I can't honestly make any predictions. They are very good-good to the point that I think they can beat anybody, including themselves. Remember getting beat by NW at home last year? Exactly-things happen, thats why we love college BB because you just never know. Sure, all the pieces are in place to have a good season, and its a safe bet we'll finish in the upper half of the B10 and probably make the NCAA tournament, but predicting anything other than that (ie-championships, 1st place finishes, Elite 8's, etc) is just careless and you are setting yourself up for failure. Getting to that point of success goes beyond the intangibles and things we or they can't control (emotion, momentum, injury, etc) come into play and to not take those into account is reckless. |
