Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Seth Davis' Purdue Article

Nice article and does a pretty good job of breaking down the team.

Only one major disagreement, he says Hummel is our best pro prospect and it is most definitely Johnson.

Also, he must of spent some extensive time talking to BG because he describes Grant as the "X-Factor".

I would agree with the assessment that Hummel is a better pro prospect than Johnson. The main thing I hate about the NBA is that it down low it stops being about skill and more about strength. It's a league where Chris Kaman once averaged 16 points and 13 rebounds in a season. It's why I like college basketball more than the pros....I think college basketball is the last level of ball that is true basketball.

Seth is, and always will be, an idiot. I'd say that no matter what he said about our team.

Hummel to me is more like Tyler Hansbourough (no I'm not saying he's as good as he is). He has a great skill set for the college level, solid decision making, and sheer force of will cover up a slight lack of athleticism... but those type of players don't tend to transfer well into the NBA.

Johnson has a lot of athletic upside and could be solid at the 4 in the NBA.

I agree with that most of the time, but this wasn't all that bad of an article. He didn't blow anything out of proportion one way or another. *shrug*

However, the Purdue Way has also taught us that playing hard is not enough. During his 25 years on the Boilermakers bench, Keady did not take a single team to the Final Four. Not one. The school's only appearances in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament were in 1969 and 1980. The Boilermakers have never won an NCAA championship.
