Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

lol.

how in the hell do you expect to get anybody to come to IU if you cant honor lynch's contract? how can you expect to take a perenial cellar-dweller, sell it to a prospective coach, sign HIM to a 5-year deal, and have him looking over his shoulder after 2 bad years?
we have to bite the bullet until his contract is up and go that route. firing him sets the FB program back another 10 years.
i think you guys are too jumpy and snippy on this issue.
see Oregon State.

they sucked and I mean SUCKED forever, brought in Dennis Erickson and he went 9-3 his first season.

tired of the IU excuses. If NW can make a rose bowl and become a pretty decent program that beats UM and OSU every once in a while, makes decent bowls and wins a steady 7 or more games, than anyone can do it.

IU fans and alums are complete excuse makers when it comes to football.

im not being an excuse maker, you just cant go firing people and expect someone else to come in and not notice. its not about lynch's ability to coach, its about our ability to land a another coach if we get the short hook when were not exactly known for our football prowess to begin with.
JESUS, we gave cameron and dinardo their contract terms, i think, what good does firing lynch now do to the continuity of the program?
and you knock off the assinine comments about "gruden lying in wait." you fire lynch now, and we get another MAC retread.

here's the rub regarding Lynch - he was never really HIRED. he was an assistant who got the job out of attrition. Its not like IU said "we want bill lynch and will pay him x amount". Lynch had his shot at D1 with BSU and FAILED MISERABLY. He is doing the same at IU.

I love the Glass comment " we were only picked to win 2 games this year by publication xyz". who cares? way to raise the bar there Freddy. This is Lynch's team and has been there 3 years and even more as an assistant. anyone who thinks he's the answer is an idiot. this team gets outcoached every second half of every game.

regarding 'honoring contracts' - how about hiring the right guy for once and not giving them 10 year contracts? I guess all you IU sheeple are still asleep and buy into the Glass/IU rhetoric regarding Lynch. He should have NEVER been hired after Hoeppner and now they are compounding the problem by extending his miserable tenure.

He's Mike Davis 2.0 only without a national run.

im not disputing the criticism directed at him. i dont think hes a very good coach. i just want to be cautious and not run off any potential replacement due to how we treat this situation. its IU fucking football...
unless we think we can bag someone now, and i highly doubt that, let him finish and start the process from the moral high ground.

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."
