Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

still playing ugly...not finishing at our end and not getting back defensively.
Not surprising IU is struggling defensively. They have so many young players that played primarily at the AAU level (like all major recruits these day). Unfortunately, anyone who has ever seen an AAU game can tell you that it isn't a league where they focus on defense, team play, and fundamentals. It focuses on offense, individuality, and getting noticed at all costs.

I'd imagine with an increased focus on AAU play for the foreseeable future college freshman will continue to struggle in a league where they have to play as a team, use sound fundamentals, and play good defense on a night to night basis. They type of mentality that the AAU circuit promotes makes a tough transition even tougher.

Agree, boilerup. I wish that AAU ball would just blow up.

Don't know how many times I've thought tonight "who's that white guy in for IU?" and it turned out to be Jeremiah Rivers.

Thats why its good to recruit the state of Indiana. Most play at high schools with good coaches that teach kids basketball the proper way.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Nice run by IU on back to back steals with Rivers finishing both on dunks. IU has their biggest lead.

82-63, little over five minutes left.

Grace has been having their guards off downcourt on every shot we take...we've gotten a lot of offensive rebounds but haven't gotten back fast enough on defense.

Really looking like we might crack 100....something like 100-75 final.

3:54 left, IU up 89-68. Watford with 19, Rivers with 12, Jones with 10, Pritchard with 12. Watford is 8-8 from free throw line. Pritchard is still missing easy shots. We have 8 turnovers in the 2nd half.

Hulls has looked very, very solid. Watford I will say will lead us in scoring this year just based on what I've seen tonight. Jones has been decent, 8 assists, but still turning it over too much. Creek hasn't played well. Capo doesn't look like he's ready to contribute yet, but Elston does. Pritchard has been okay, Rivers has been pretty steady...solid, nothing flashy. Roth, IMO, still looks like he'll have a place in the rotation....we haven't shown much from the perimeter tonight.

Refs tonight have called a consistent game, but one in which every ticky-tack foul was called. 21 fouls each way with 3 1/2 minutes left.

Steven Gambles just scored...93-68, 3 minutes left. Think everybody that has played except Jobe and Moore have scored.

We are up 95-71 and it looks like mop up time with mostly walk-ons on the floor.
