Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

From what I saw during the exhibition game Barlow looked solid. He looked comfortable handling the ball and has a lot of natural athletic ability. I think he could actually work his way into the rotation this year with a little work, that's too bad if he redshrits.

PT in the backcourt was going to be hard to come by, so its not really all that surprising. Its crazy that we are redshirting someone with the ability that Barlow has. I'd say in nearly all other years, he'd be in the playing rotation. He's going to be a darn good player for us when he gets the chance.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

What are we going to do with Hart is the question... at this point I would of rather have a true freshman in Barlow on the court than a reshirted Hart...

Hart won't play a whole lot. As Painter said after the game, you can't play 12 or 13 guys every game.

I'd say we'll see a 9, sometimes 10 guy rotation most of the year. Johnson/Hummel/Bade/Byrd/Grant/Kramer/Moore/Jackson/Marcius when healthy. Smith will play when his shooting ability is needed. The backcourt is so loaded right now that it was going to be pretty hard for Barlow to see significant time.

Oh well, Barlow's athletic ability and raw skill (for now) will still come in handy down the road.

These next couple of classes are going to have some pretty big shoes to fill.

He's a nice player to have because he can play the 1-3 on both offense and defense. He'll be nice to have with the more scoring type guards we have coming in next year.

I believe you can play in five games and still redshirt. Are they looking to do that with Barlow?

So this hurts us when, 2013-2014? By all means redshirt him if he fills a need in the future and you can't use him now. We need frontcourt depth more than backcourt depth at this point.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed
