Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I'm not sure there is a fan of any team in the country that wouldn't want him on their team. He didn't go to IU and I still think he's the greatest. And I still hate him because of how much the media sucked his dick. Don't confuse what/who people actually dislike when they say they can't stand Tyler Hansbrough.
So the media "sucked his dick." Why should that make people want to dislike Hansbrough? The media is the one who builds him up. Hansbrough has been a quiet and humble person that hardly puts himself in the spotlight. Blame the media, not Hansbrough.
This is what I'm saying. people don't actually hate Hansbrough, they hate the media. It's just easier to say, "I hate Hansbrough" than it is, "I hate the media." Hansbrough is a singular entity that is easy to latch onto. The media is some sort of conglomerate thing that you can't touch, can't put a finger on.
But saying "I hate Hansbrough" when you don't really hate him, but just the media, makes you look really, really stupid.

Its sort of sad how much power the media has over sports fans in general. They spread so much stupidity, and the fact that the games are becoming more and more available makes it even worse.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

6 of one, half dozen of the other. You guys are making a big deal about someone who says they hate Hansbrough. It's an easy fix. You would ask why they hate TH and the person would say the media and then it becomes immediately obvious they don't actually hate TH the person, just the media coverage of him.

If someone instead says that they hate the media, you would ask why, and they would say they don't hate all of the media, just the part that covers college basketball because of the way they treat TH.

So what's the difference? Either way you have to explain your true feelings. My point is don't be confused when people say they hate TH. You should know what they really mean.

I can't bring myself to hate any athletes that put their hearts into each game and conducts themselves positively

Not a fan of the flopping myself, but Reggie Miller did it worse than anyone EVER... and we all love him. So respect the style he plays, because it produces.

Hansbrough is the type of player that can single handedly change a program.. like some on here have said, if he went to IU then all those hard feelings wouldn't exist.

Actually, I didn't care for Miller's flops and I am a Pacers fan. What I did like is that in crunch time, he wanted the ball and he seemed to be the kind of player who really worked at his game.

The same is true with Hansborough...I can respect how hard he works -- I don't think many ever outworked him in practice or during games -- but I did hate the fact that he was a constant flopper.

And I'll second bri's thoughts on Fife...I wasn't a huge fan of his. Marco Killingsworth was a thug on the court, but he scored points...and I can't say I was a fan of his game. And if a player liked Brian Cardinal had played for IU, I doubt I would have liked him either.
