Here is an article from the indy star pertainig to the HOF ceremony, and according to Steve Downing Knight was real close to coming. Maybe it is only a matter of time before IU and Knight bury the hatchett. If he was this close this time then maybe Coach K is right, they should make a ceremony about him. I think they should either rename Assembly or dedicate the new sports training facility to him and call it he Bob Knight Training Center. What do the rest of you think? http://www.indystar.com/article/20091107/SPORTS0601/911070381/1069/SPORTS0601/Knight+recalled+fondly+at+Hall+of+Fame+induction |

Like I said, they should have had the ceremony at a classy place in Indianpolis. Knight could attend without having to go back to campus. |

i completely disagree about renaming assembly hall, but naming the new development center after him would be a good compromise. actually, i think that was their intent until he declined to come to the ceremony. |

Maybe IU can name the press room after Knight. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I like it. Honestly, I think IU should just give Bob a big "Fuck you". Was IU perfect during the whole thing? Not at all. But he's looking very petty and childish right now (not really surprising, but sad). IU has tried, not much else to do. |

I like it. I think you are onto something Badger. I don't see any reason why IU couldn't do that. Who knows, maybe that is what their plans are eventually. Edited by dedicatedIUfan, Nov 7 2009, 05:00 PM.

I like naming the new basketball facility after him. I mean, who else are they going to name it after? Branch-McCracken Court does have a good ring to it too. |
