Anyone hear anything about this? Not sure on the full story, but it involves Zach Reckman. |

Apparently Hope thinks RichRod had something to do with Reckman being suspended for the ND game. So he took Reckman over for the handshake so he could meet the coach who got him suspended. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

The guy picked last in gym class

http://www.freep.com/article/20091107/SPORTS06/91107027/1354/ Here is the low down on why I think Hope blamed Rodriguez: Rodriguez refused to suspend a player early in the year after he hit a Notre Dame player. The Big Ten stepped in and suspended him. I think Hope believed that Reckman would not have been suspended if Rodriguez hadn't made the Big Ten get involved. Precedent was set, leaving no choice. But if that's all there is to it, that's a pretty dickish move, especially after you've just beaten a team. |

![]() "Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed Meat is Murder. Sweet, delicious murder. | |

Doesn't really matter to me. There could be several underlying factors that we'll never know. But if this becomes a regularity after a Purdue win I would have a problem. |

The question is whether Hope would have done the same thing if we had lost, which we'll never know. DickRod brings all this on himself. The Monday after the Reckman incident, he said there was a play over the weekend that he felt was an instance of a "non football act", obviously referring to Reckman without being specific. He was pissed about Mouton and anointed himself some sort of late hit watchdog. I'm not crazy about what Hope did, but at least he did it face to face and not through the media. |

Fuck them. I just got back from Ann Arbor-I was there today. That place is full of assholes so I don't show much remorse right now....... RR broke coaches code when he 1) recruited Roundtree from Purdue and 2) whined to the media about Reckman. Fuck him-they always get calls their way ie, Indiana and the dual catch? Shit always goes there way-so if it doesn't for once who cares. If Coach Hope did that I'm sure he had a reason other than to spite him, maybe there was something said between the 2 behind closed doors or something and they were burying the hatchet-who knows. Until you get an explanation don't jump to conclusions. BTFU-and be happy with the W!!!!!!!!! |

I doubt many people care since he did it to Rodriguez. I get this feeling not many people like this guy. |

As I said, not many people have anything good to say about him. But there's no need to stoop to his level...hell, you just won at a place where you hadn't won in 43 years -- let that be the blurb as opposed to an issue from months ago. |
