  • Bawa Muniru redshirting?
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I just read a short article on peegs stating that Crean was addressing whether he will redshirt Bawa Muniru or not. Does anyone have any info on this? Is this just peegs trying to sell their material?

I wouldn't be surprised with his process in learning the game and how well he does in school...

Not saying we couldn't use him this year though. I think if anything TC would wait another game or 2.

there is a video posted on Crean's twitter about this. He said that we are not deep enough or talented enough at any position, so don't expect redshirts. Thats just peegs trying to get some attention. Crean said Bawa brings a legitimate shot block presence, which nobody else on the teams does. He said Bawa will for sure be on the court tonight.

our scholarship situation is too tight to hand out any redshirts for the time being.

That is exactly what I thought. Also, I agree with BTown about our scholarship situation being too tight.

I'd be shocked if anyone redshirted this season.

Hey, what not redshirt Tijan and see if the extra year could turn him into a stud?

after watching him play tonight there's no way in hell he'll redshirt. he could be a key figure if we plan on winning big ten games this year.

I couldn't agree more. He is far more polished than Tijan, its not even close. He's got some skill, shot well from the line, dunked on somebody from a dropstep and a real deal shot blocker

Honestly, if there is anyone we should redshirt, it would be Capo. With our scholarship situation, though, I wouldn't do it.

bow wow will be the real deal. you can't teach 7 feet, 260 lbs muscle and length. and it seems, unlike Jobe, he knows what sport he's playing.

I agree with both of you. I think he can give us real positive minutes by just able to defend, rebound and block shots. If he scores points, then that is a bonus. I was really impressed with his ability to catch the ball in traffic. He seems to have good hands. His footwork will come. I know it is only one game, but he did hit 3-4 free throws and they weren't the hit the rim five times before they went in type, they were nothing but net. I can see him playing 10-15 minutes a game, depending on the opponent and making the types of contributions he did yesterday. At least when he had the opportunity, he finished at the rim, unlike someone we know.

I can see him throwing J J of Purdue around like a rag doll, LOL.
