Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I HATE it when Moore's on the court. I'm not happy to see that he had double digit minutes in any game, exhibition or not.

Honestly, he should never see the court more than Roth or Dumes. Roth at least does one thing well, Dumes is incredibly wild but at least his turnovers, unlike Moore's, come along with a few good things he does as well.

I think Roth does three things well, he shots good from outside, he hits his free throws, and he passes well IMO.

That was me that said they were ranked third in DII. Don Fischer said on the radio on my way home, but the radio cut out. I think he meant they are ranked third in their conference, that would make more sense.

Yes he does. He was 0-4. Also, they had him 2-3 from the field, but he totally threw one completely over the rim that he either lost on the way up or the stat people thought is was a pass, and he missed another bunny as well.

Didn't realize that St Joe's was in UIndy's conference.

Also, didn't realize the poor competition that these teams play in their exhibition games. I played in my HS's alumni league this year (each team can have 4 non-alumni), and we have an alum who plays football and basketball for UIndy. He had a team of himself and 4 other UIndy basketball players. They finished second in the league. Yikes.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Did they let student managers play? How did you get into the league when you didnt even play high school basketball? Must have been a "league" of pussies and rejects.

"The Dreamers League"

I'm sure you won the free throw and sprints contests.

lol

Pussies and rejects in a league where a group of D2 college basketball players couldn't win the league?

I got into the league because I'm actually a good basketball player. Not every good basketball player plays on their HS team. I just happened to be better at other sports so I did them instead.

Now i didn't watch the game but if Elston had 8 pts and 8 boards in that limited play, that seems pretty impressive

Kentucky Wesleyan is in U Indy's league as well. I wouldn't exactly say Wesleyan embarassed themselves against Purdue.

BTW, U Indy beat Valparaiso this year in exhibition and Wesleyan beat Evansville. Indy beat Valpo 88-83 in a game that they never trailed in the second half. It's a Valpo team that pretty much returns everybody....the same one that hung with Purdue last year in a 59-45 game that saw VU only down by 2 at half. Last season's Indianapolis team wasn't very good (they went 9-18) and they had a new coach....when you say he had 4 other U Indy players on his team, I really have to wonder about the accuracy of the statement. UIndy's roster this season only has 5 returning players (Larry Woods, Devin Williams, Sergery Stuck, Dijon Knight, and Paul Corsaro). The rest of the team is two true freshman and five transfers -- two from junior colleges and three division 1 transfers (from Bowling Green, Akron, and Gardner-Webb). There are a couple late additions/walk ons, but certainly no one who played significantly.

BTW, the two of the three D1 transfers new to Indy's teams...Ryan Sims from Bowling Green and Nate Blank from Gardner Webb -- got significant D1 minutes previously. Sims played 500+ minutes over a two year span, averaging about 2 points/game while Blank averaged over 10 points per game at Gardner Webb in his two years there. In fact, as a freshman in only his second game he scored 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting in Gardner Webb's big upset over Kentucky.
