Who's flying high? Who's stinking up the joint? Join me for your fantasy football midseason turds and birds, along with some advice about what to do with these players in your league. Fantasy numbers based off a standard Yahoo league. Yours may not be the same, but it should be close enough for this. TURDS! Matt Forte - Universally drafted in the top 5, Matt Forte is currently 17th among fantasy running backs. He's behind guys like pierre Thomas, who was out with injury, and Steve Slaton, who has been benched with fumbling issues. So what to do? TRADE HIM. Not only does he not seem to be the focal point of the Bears offense, but the Bears get to go @Baltimore and at home against Minnesota for fantasy football playoff weeks 15 and 16. Convince someone in your league that he will blow up in the 2nd half and get rid of him. Or, wait until he has a decent game and then trade him to someone who thinks Forte is on the verge of breaking out. Jake Delhomme I understand not many people counted on Jake the Snake to run their fantasy team to begin with, but he has been beyond terrible. He has 5 TDs and 13 INTs. When on earth did Delhomme turn into Jamarcus Russell? He has fewer fantasy points than a rookie QB who plays for the Lions. In fact, if Jake Delhomme were a kicker, he’d be ranked 9th in the league. Effing terrible. There is no fantasy advice on what to do with Delhomme because he shouldn’t be owned and if he is actually on your team then you should just kill yourself. Calvin Johnson – Some morons actually listened to the experts who said Johnson would have a Larry Fitzgerald type season. I know this because I was one of them. I usually don’t like to put players with injury problems on the turd list, but he was bad even before the injury. I don’t care that he’s on Detroit or that Staff infection is throwing to him. He has fewer fantasy points than Jacoby fucking Jones who has a whopping 13 catches on the year. Fantasy advice: If you have Johnson then you are just going to have to ride this storm out. He gets Arizona and San Fran in weeks 15 and 16 which isn’t great but isn’t terrible. No one will buy him for anything close to 1-3 round value you paid for him so I think you’ve got to just hold onto him, hope he gets healthy and starts to put up numbers. If you have gigantic cajones, just drop his ass. This seems crazy (and it is) but if you keep him then you almost have to start him. At least if you drop him you can start someone who will actually give you some points. Jason Witten – This is the most surprising name on here. Everything was set up for Witten to have a fantastic year. He’s got the catches, but not the yards and not the TDs. He is ranked 16th among tight ends. How is that possible? Obviously the advice here is to trade FOR Jason Witten. He can’t possibly have as bad a 2nd half as he did a 1st half. If he is on your team, keep starting him. At the very least he never puts up a 0 spot and that alone still gives him some value. |

These guys being Turds should come as no surprise. My thoughts on these guys: Forte was wildly overrated based on one season. Jake has been the product of his system for his entire career Calvin Johnson will end up the least utilized stud of a WR in the history of football Witten is the only part of the Cowboys passing game that demands defensive attention, for the first time in his carrer |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

You aren't surprised by any of those? Forte may ahve been overrated, but with defenses supposedly having to pay attention to the passing game since the Bears got Cutler, everyone though Forte would have a lot more room to run wild. Jake is bad. Many people knew that. But this bad? Don't think anyone expected him to fall off the face of hte earth. Calvin Johnson? I think most people just said figured that he was too good to be this bad. Guess not. And Witten, wow. So defenses are paying more attention to him, I get that. But he is on pace for the same # of catches as last year. So why aren't they looking his way in the red zone? I don't think he can be held back too much longer. |

i'd like to add Anquan Boldin to that list. I haven't been impressed by him whatsoever yet he was drafted high in both leagues i'm in. br |

Yeah feel free to make your own additions. I chose Forte over Westbrook because everyone knew Westbrook is old and an injury risk. Boldin might have been my 2nd choice behind Johnson. People forget that when both him and Fitzgerald have played at the same time, Boldin has had better numbers. |

yeah, i'm mainly making my picks based on where they went in the average FF draft to where they are now. l. fitz hasn't been a stud either, imo. br |

Forte had bust as a top 3 pick written all over him. Teams will let Cutler try to beat them because they know he'll make big mistakes and that he has no playmakers. Anybody counting on Delhomme as its fantasy QB was destined to failure anyways. If you thought Johnson was going to put up big stats with a rookie QB on a bad team, then you weren't very bright. I'd still take him over just about any WR in the league because of his ability and age. He went from the #2 thing that defenses worried about, to the #1 thing defenses worry about in the passing game. Is he still very good? Of course, but his stats were destined to suffer. Throw a legit #1 outside, and I'd bet his YPC would spike and he'd score more TDs, but I don't see that happening in Dallas this year. |

I think many people drafted Johnson thinking Culpepper was going to win the job. You make good points, but I'm still fairly surprised by Forte and Witten. |

Ooh, totally forgot about McFadden as well. Mostly because he's been so insignificant. I know some people that built their drafts early on QBs and WRs and then got McFadden late as a #1 thinking he's be good. Sucks to be them right now. |

Pains me to say it being a Chargers fan but LT has been a huge bust. Injuries and maybe the worst O-line in the league with the injuries to it. |

Can't believe Steven Jackson hasn't gotten a shout out yet. He went, what, like 5 weeks without a TD? He's talented as all hell but he has no line to support and no receiving threat to take the pressure off. He's been a big fantasy bust for me in another league..and he was my late first rounder... br |
