Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

is not redshirting.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Well, I was of mixed emotions on the benefit of that happening anyway. On one side it didn't affect us until 2013, but on the other we might need him if injuries become an issue and we might as well keep him as game ready as possible. Where did you hear that?

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

"We're not going to redshirt anybody," Painter said Wednesday morning during a media teleconference to talk about the signing of his 2010 recruiting class.

For once I actually agree with you. He's athletic but very raw.

Yah, but you have to admit Barlow has a way bigger upside than Hart. I actually see Barlow being a very solid role player off the bench during his tenure at Purdue (after he develops a bit).

I just can't see a future where Hart gets much playing time ever.

I think Barlow could play a little this year. I think Painter sees the opportunity this year for this team, and doesn't want to leave any of his bullets in the chamber.

In the future, I think Kelsey is going to be very valuable. I like the guards we are bringing in, but most of them don't have ideal size for off the ball players. With Kelsey, you can play him at the point on offense, yet let him guard the 3 on defense. Adds quite a bit of flexibility to have a 6'5 guy who can handle the ball.

Jackson, Grant, Kramer, Moore, Smith, and Barlow are all ahead of him, and if too many injuries happened, you'd even see Byrd on the wing before Hart.

My prediction is, Byrd spells Hummel more than Bade does........he's the biggest addition to class for this season. kinda like Marcus Green, but you know, a lot better.

Well, i was uneasy about the Hart signing and redshirting, mainly because he was blocking a scholly for one of the super studs from Indiana 2012. But it seems like Painter thought more of Molock and Simpson, than the Indiana kids like Burgett, etc. (Davis has been in the fold a while), so i guess he (very quickly, i might add) made my point moot by filling up that class

Bade is going to have to play though. There are 80 minutes to go out to the 4/5 spots. I'd assume Rob and JJ both player right around 30 a night, so you have about 20 or a little more left on average.

I think Byrd will spell Hummel a little, but also play alongside him at times on the wing. Bade will pick up the majority of the minutes when JJ is out, and probably play alongside him at times with Hummel out.
