My prediction is, Byrd spells Hummel more than Bade does........he's the biggest addition to class for this season. kinda like Marcus Green, but you know, a lot better. To be fair, Green had some stellar moments for Purdue. And was the only guy from Painters first class that went the distance. ON a side note, he was a pretty cool guy, i met him a few times.
having said that, I'm glad we have Byrd instead.

Well, i was uneasy about the Hart signing and redshirting, mainly because he was blocking a scholly for one of the super studs from Indiana 2012. But it seems like Painter thought more of Molock and Simpson, than the Indiana kids like Burgett, etc. (Davis has been in the fold a while), so i guess he (very quickly, i might add) made my point moot by filling up that class If spots open up, we'll still be very much in play for Burgett.
A lot of this 2012 class has some stuff going on with it that I'd prefer to stay out of. Lots of talk of packaged deals with certain players. There was a big AAU shake up that turned into some ugly politics also. No thank you to that stuff.

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

No thank you to that stuff. even so.......i wasn't a huge fan of us filling up that class so fast. For many reasons
A) Lots of Indiana talent for that class
B) if we do have a final four this year, or all together very good year, it will help with recruiting (if there are spots)
C) 2012 are sophomores, and hard to project.
Im not really that sure, i woulda been a huge fan of filling it up with all Indiana kids either though

I agree Green had some moments of greatness, unfortunately they were often quickly followed by me yelling at the TV telling Painter to pull him from the floor. I am glad Green was there when he was, but I 'd rather have Byrd also.

Bade is going to have to play though. There are 80 minutes to go out to the 4/5 spots. I'd assume Rob and JJ both player right around 30 a night, so you have about 20 or a little more left on average. I think Byrd will spell Hummel a little, but also play alongside him at times on the wing. Bade will pick up the majority of the minutes when JJ is out, and probably play alongside him at times with Hummel out. god damn turdue's bench is gonna blow
better pray officials aren't calling the handcheck.
