Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Hell yeah 35 yard pass right on the money(didn't know you had it in ya joey). WR screen, Elliot run, and bolden for the td. That is mixing it up the play calling a bit.

not a huge fan of all the horizontal stuff, but Offense has looked pretty good when they aren't coughing up the ball....

on a side note, go IU, up 10-0 on PSU
Well, if we get a QB who can throw the ball down the field effectively, then I'd imagine we'll start going vertically more often.
Yep, we had a great vertical passing game last year............
What does what happened last year have anything to do with Joey's inability to throw the ball down the field this year?
The point is that our offense is not a vertical passing offense, it's lateral. Same as last year and the year before that and.......

Well, we do have a new offensive coordinator. Obviously, the short routes have always been a Purdue staple, but we went downfield quite a bit more with Brees and Orton, for obvious reasons. They were NFL caliber QBs with strong arms.

I think part of the reason for not having much vertically is our personnel. Joey can make some good throws down the field, but he's not consistently strong at throwing it downfield. Hence, the abundance of short throws, which Joey is very good at making.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I feel like I've seen this story before.

typical purdue game this year. Every time we feel like we can pull away we let the other team right back in.

Agreed. Painter obviously had a much stronger arm and could throw it downfield better than Joey.

I don't see as many "throw it all the way across the field for 4 yards" stuff as in years past.

The kick was pretty low...I believe it was blocked by a player who was still on his feet. Just was trying to say that Wiggs has been excellent all year, but today I think he's missed 2 FGs and an EP.
