Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

If you're into this kind of music I like Railroad Earth. My buddy and I went to see them play about a year ago at the Bluebird. It was a really good show.

Mentioned in the another thread, here's the first single off of Them Crooked Vulture's CD. Single is titled New Fang.

Members are Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, back on drums again), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), and John Paul Jones (yes, THAT John Paul Jones, Led Zeppelin).

Every account I've heard is that the CD is amazing. I'll be downloading shortly.

I'll let you know after I listen to it. Bits of other songs I've heard from them sounds promising....and I wasn't a huge fan of Queens of the Stone Age (sans Go With the Flow).

i'm hoping they bring something new to the table. i'm a huge QOTSA fan as well as just about everything Grohl has done. I am in NO way a Led Zeppelin fan...usually can't stand listening to a whole song of theirs.

let me know how the cd plays out. i might give it a spin in a day or two..

Have to say the Them Crooked Vultures CD is pretty uneven through it's first listen. I've had CDs before that I thought that about and ended up loving, but it's not real accessible through the first go round. Really lacks any kind of memorable chorus.

New Fang I really like and 'Warsaw or the First Breath You Take After Giving Up' is an excellent song; Scumbag Blues is pretty good. A couple left me scratching my head....there is obviously good musicianship, but not a lot seems to click. I'll keep listening, see if the second time through changes my mind.

That said, I've went back and really started listening to everything Foo Fighters has put out and am starting to come to the conclusion that over the past twenty-years, no one has put out better music than Grohl.

Dave Grohl is a freak of nature. Everything that guy touches is awesome. That said, i've heard a couple more tracks from them crooked vultures and i'm not too impressed. Just another typical supergroup that's awesome on paper, but really not what it should/could be...

I also went back and spun a few foo fighters records and nirvana (muddy banks of the wishkah)...effing great stuff...
