| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. In case anyone is interested and you haven't read the article from ITH, here is an update from ITH on our recruits and possible recruits on how they are doing. VO posted a double double. 18 rebounds for a guard is very impressive. Here is the article: Victor Oladipo posts double-double in DeMatha win by Alex Bozich in Recruiting | December 6th, 2009 Throughout the season, Inside the Hall will keep you posted on how Victor Oladipo and Will Sheehey and 2011 commitments Austin Etherington and Matt Carlino are performing at their respective schools. Here’s our latest update: + Victor Oladipo: DeMatha moved to 3-0 with a 82-56 win on Saturday over St. Frances. Oladipo scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. The Stags are ranked No. 18 preseason in the USA Today Super 25. + Will Sheehey: No information available. Reportedly missed the first three games for Sagemont with an ankle injury. + Austin Etherington: Hamilton Heights (1-2) dropped its second straight — 68-59 at Guerin Catholic on Saturday night. Etherington led all scorers with 25 points. + Matt Carlino: Carlino scored 21 points and had three rebounds, four steals and four assists in a 71-51 Bloomington South win Friday at Bedford North Lawrence. The Panthers are No. 1 in Class 4A and No. 11 in the preseason USA Today Super 25. Other notables: + Cody Zeller: The Hatchets, No. 2 in Class 3A moved to 3-0 with a pair of wins — 66-41 on Friday over Evansville Central and 48-24 on Saturday over North Daviess. Zeller had 18 points in Friday’s win. + D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera: After missing the season opener against Pike, Smith-Rivera returned from a knee injury and scored 15 points in a 87-58 North Central win at Lawrence Central. The Panthers are ranked No. 2 in Class 4A. |

Nice updates. I'm not going to read too much into VO's rebounds. It's obviously something he won't be able to reproduce at the next level. It does show, however, that he at least has the desire to go after the board, which is nice. |

I think it is nice to have a guard that could go in and rebound and have nose for the ball. I remember Jim Thomas was a very underrated player for IU's 1981 team. That guy, at 6'3", was one of the best reboundi9ng guards I have ever seen and that kind of skill is under appreciated. If you have a guard that can help the bigs to go get the ball on the glass on both ends, then you end up having a strong part of the game that is a key to winning. Speaking of Jim Thomas, he was an assistant coach under Mike Davis. Since Crean wants to honor the past and bring back tradition, do any of you think he might consider Jim Thomas as a future assistant coach? I think he did an admirable job under Mike Davis and was probably one of his best recruitors. Could really teach the guards how to rebound, which was his strong part of his game. This is a real important aspect of a system that plays a 3 guard lineup. |

I'm honestly the most excited about Oladipo in our upcoming recruits. I think he is going to DOMINATE defensively. And I'm sure he will throw down a few thunderous dunks that will get the fans riled up. |

Vic has high aspirations. He's alright to talk to, makes good grades. He's committed for sure. 40+ vertical... and actually uses it plenty unlike Wilmont. (til his senior year) |

One thing I'm worried about with Etherington is that Hamilton Heights has been pretty bad the past couple of years. |

If he's good, why does it matter how good the team is? |

Maybe he is saying that if he is that good, he should possibly carry a team. I could be wrong. |

i've seen etherington play, he's the real deal. there's a GLARING talent disparity on that team. not dissimilar to eric gordon a few years ago on his senior year NC team. |

And Gordon's team went to the state finals. Anyway, I did this last year and mixed up Hamilton Heights with Heritage Hills. Etherington's Hamilton Heights team went 13-10 last year, Heritage Hills went 4-18...so my bad. Edited by brumdog44, Dec 7 2009, 12:30 AM.
