Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

you can say what you want to about the competition Moore played against, but McCoy wouldn't have put up the same numbers that Moore did playing against that level.
Check the numbers. Kellen Moore got picked three times, McCoy twelve. Competition can't explain that away.

Secondly, McCoy has one of the best receivers in the game on his side. Combine that with the fact that McCoy has been nothing more than a dink and dunk quarterback and you'll see that his numbers wouldn't improve that much.

Lastly, the Big 12 this year has been pretty weak. Sagarin ratings will tell you that Texas' SOS was 44th, roughly a touchdown per game tougher than Boise's. The disparity between the two player's stats was wider than that.
Saying McCoy wouldn't have put up those numbers is a bit baffling to me because last year, he in fact did put those type numbers, and against much stiffer competition.

I'd take McCoy as my QB any day of the week over Kellen Moore, and that has nothing to do with Moore being bad. I think he's a very, very good QB, but I think McCoy is great.

McCoy is great??? LOL

McCoy didn't even finish in the top 15% of quarterback ratings in D1. The ONLY thing he excels out is completing short passes...he's nothing more than a product of Texas' system. And QB rating doesn't even factor in sacks, where McCoy had the 12th highest total in D1. Let me repeat that: despite being behind a good line, McCoy was 12TH IN NUMBER OF TIMES GETTING SACKED.

Now to the most ludicrous thing you've ever said -- that McCoy's stats matched Moore's. You aren't even trying to argue that McCoy would have matched them had he been at Boise, you are saying that McCoy's stats matched Moore's as is.

McCoy (who had one of the best receivers in the nation at his disposal): 70.5% completion, 7.5 yards per pass, 27 TD/12 INT, sacked 30 times
Moore: 64.8% completion, 8.5 yards per pass, 39 TD/3 INT, sacked 5 times

Moore led all of D1 in rating, which again doesn't take into account sacks...and you have the gall to say McCoy's stats match his?

I said last year he matched what Moore did this year. He's very capable of putting up the numbers Moore did, he just didn't really have that great of a supporting cast this year (one good WR doesn't make an entire WR core good), plus he didn't get to play a WAC schedule.

And who said Texas has a good offensive line? You mentioned sacks, which for whatever reason you are putting on McCoy, when really, he bailed them out plenty of times with his legs. And their leading rusher had 513 yards rushing. Not exactly a dominating line.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

McCoy WASN'T their leading rusher. Tre Newton was...he had 513 rushing yards. They have a running game by committee.

And their running backs averaged 4.6 yards/carry. Not too shabby.

I never said McCoy was the leading rusher.

4.6 yards is okay, but Boise State has a much better rushing attack, which obviously helps Moore. Plus, Boise State is in a completely different league all over the field in the WAC in terms of talent. And its not really that close.

Do you really think that Texas has a good line?
