Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

A nearly 6000 day streak was broken yesterday. You won't read about it in the papers.

In the summer of 1993 I was hospitalized with collitis. After many days of eating an all liquid diet, the jello that I had just eaten quickly returned from whence it came. This event broke a ten year streak of it's own.

This week, my whole family came down with the stomach flu....with vomiting the likes I've never seen. I perservered. First son bit the dust, followed by daughter, and finally wife. Days go by, and it looked like I had met the challenge.

Then last night, it happened. A full four heaver....my over 16 year streak of not puking (longer than the streak mentioned in a Seinfeld episode) bit the dust. I swear I heard taps being played in the background. I threw up everything I had eaten plus some things I hadn't...a lung and two livers came out (and yes, I know that we only have one liver).

I am officially retiring from this game. At my age I think I can not break my own streak.

Superflu?

How old are you brum? I always guessed mid 40's, you should be able to get another 17 years in there!

But there's just no margin for error.

I'm not going to Ricky Henderson this....it's time for me to get out of the game and see if anyone can break my posted number.

That's pretty damn good. I have a 3 year streak going myself. 3 years ago on Thanksgiving, a few of my buddies and i decided to celebrate Thanksgiving and one of said buddies new house by having a bender on Thanksgiving night. Liberal amounts of tequila, rum, beer, and even a few shots of sake were consumed, and not one of us held down our thanksgiving dinner.

As far as non alcohol related puking goes, it has been probably over 10 years. I don't get sick much, so thankfully i don't usually have to worry about that.

Well, since i honestly doubt that i will ever get throw up drunk again, i will take that challenge. Luckily for me, i can tell you he exat date of my last throw up, so it should be easy enough to keep track.

Too many trips to Asia for me to ever compete in this one either.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Can't remember the last time I threw up for any other reason besides alcohol. One time I pulled over to a KFC and puked in the parking lot after drinking at a bar. Some lady asked me if I was okay. I've told so many people about that, and their reactions are so damn funny.

Discounting alcoholic-based reversals, I haven't puked in probably 8 years. Well, there was one time I was doing a couple dips with my brother-in-law as we were doing some Christmas shopping. First off, I almost never dip (like once or twice a year, usually just with him). After 2-3 in rapid-fire, I had an awesome buzz going, but knew I was done. He popped in another one, and the smell instantly got to me. I forced him to pull over into a tiny parking lot right off a 6 lane road and tossed everything I had out the side of the car. The best part was I was hysterically laughing as I was emptying my stomach on the pavement. Oddest combo ever, but that was fucking hilarious!

So discounting substance-induced heaves, I'm halfway to your streak!

...i had a nice thirteen year streak going...then we had a daughter...then she went to daycare at the school my wife teaches...my daughter got a bug, two days later my wife got the bug, and two days after that my streak was over...

...i guess we should at least be proud that we (the men) were the last of the family members to get hit...

Alcohol-induced vomits count. That's what makes the 16 year streak impressive.

Now I would say I'm probably on the lower end side here in terms of drinking, but at the beginning of the streak I wasn't. There were times when I wanted nothing more than to vomit...but counldn't.

I don't have a shot in hell on this streak. I'm lucky to make 4 months. My wife works as an RN in a children's hospital on the respitory/ infectious disease floor. That and going on a cruise every other year right now, last night of the first 2 I've been on spent the whole night and the next day at home puking my guts out.

me on the other hand, totally different story. i cought some 12hr bug about a year ago. threw up probably 30 times in those 12 hours. then BAM, all of a sudden i feel perfect.
