Although it's great for football it just brings back more inbalance to the bball schedules..... it's bullshit when big ten titles are determined by which team didn't have to play a different team on the road |

I'd like to see Pitt. To me, they just make the most sense. |

yeah i know, we added games, and now only play two teams "once" instead of four the new team would make it go back to four, hell, maybe even make them go back to 16 games....and only play like 4 teams twice.....which would be lame as hell |

If they do add another school, I would hope it would be an academically rigorous school befitting the Big Ten. I take some pride in the fact that the Big Ten is made up of schools that are renowned for their academics as well as their athletic programs. Also a Midwest school would also be important. |

I agree that I'd also like a school that has the academics to go with good athletic programs. The only 2 schools i could see as a possibility is PITT and Notre Dame but neither of which are likely. Notre Dame won't give up their huge contract they have with NBC by themselves and don't have share any money. PITT would have to succeed from the Big East which is probably unlikey, because they would go from being in the top 2 programs in the BE to being 4 or 5th at best in the B10 in football. |

Plus IU can beat them in basketball which is a bonus. |

Only schools I can come up with are Notre Dame, Pitt, or maybe Syracuse even though its a stretch geographically. Other good athletic schools in the region would include Louisville or Cincinnati or WVU, but they are not quite up there academically. |

To be eligible to be in the big ten, the school must be a research school. Notre Dame isn't a research school so I doubt they could join. Given their academic prestige, I wouldn't mind if the rules changed to allow them in though. |

The Big Ten has went after Notre Dame before....expect that the Big Ten will change the rule for the right fit. |

aren't you a teacher? haha, seriously, we do need to add a 12th schools. Preferably one with good academics, and a good balance of good athletic teams. I.E. not just basketball and football, but soccer, volleyball, etc. How about a dark horse like Villanova? |
