Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

They only have 6 or 7 healthy scholarship players on their roster.

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Nobody, they just don't have very many scholarship players. They signed nobody in the '09 class, have two seniors, and are have signed 6 players for the 2010 class.

Early entries, plus the transfer of Walter Offutt have left them thin, plus Turner's injury. I'm not sure Matta has much of a plan in recruiting.

coerce the best players in the nation to play for you and hope they stay more than one season? haha. the talent on matta's teams the past few seasons has really covered up for his lack of coaching abilities -- he better hope the well never runs dry on OSU.

Its odd, he seemed like a rather good coach at Butler. I think he's tailored his strategy to his recruiting at Ohio State. Those recruits like to have freedom and be able to do what they want, and he's letting them do it. I guess there are many different ways to go about being successful, but I don't really prefer that way at all.

I know some coaches want to keep their players happy, but you will never win any championships if you don't discipline them.

Wow, didn't know that. Certainly doesn't sound like good planning....I can't see them hanging around with the upper level teams in the Big Ten with that kind of depth.

Calipari came pretty close at Memphis as did Matta when he had Oden and company.
