in this thread of nonsense, can i just throw out something ironic? Kentucky basketball, and most notably Adolph Rupp have had an infamous history of bigotry. Isn't it odd that black players flock to UK to play in the arena named for one of the biggest bigots in the history of college athletics?

Not ironic at all. Our entire country was racist at one point, and black people still live here. We honor presidents who had slaves work for them. And now we have a black president. Not odd at all. Bigotry ran through every northern program at one time. UK was just made popular for it because they were good. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

It is ironic, however, that the culprit of the racism at UK, Adolf Rupp, has the arena named after him. |

exactly. william garrett became the first african-american player and indiana/in the big ten 20 years prior to Kentucky changing its course on allowing black athletes. kentucky didn't even consider black players, until after rupp was gone. |
