Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

You will win 5 of the next 7. Mark it down.
That would be nice. I looked at the schedule and I think we could win 6 of 9. That would make us 3-3 in the B10. I wonder how many on this board think we could be either OSU, Michigan, or PSU on the road? Like you stated later in the thread, if we put two halfs together like we did against Kensucky, we could beat one of those three teams on the road. The team I think we could beat, because we match up a little better with them, is OSU. This is only because Evan Turner is out.

i agree about OSU. they don't go very deep, and without turner, they'll have trouble creating offense. if we could get them in a drought, and have a good assist/turnover ratio like against Pitt/UK, we have a shot at winning for sure.

I realize we lack depth in the post. But would some of you smack yourselves in the heads for wanting to start Jobe. Do you not watch the games when he's playing? He is nothing but a waste of meat on the court and a practice dummy. The guy can't score, he can't rebound, and his idea of defense is throwing elbows. It looks like Crean woke up and realized that he should not give valuable playing minutes to Jobe.

But I agree with everyone who has said it over and over again. Get Bawa in the game. Yes, he is a raw player right now, but we know he can block shots, get rebounds, and occassionally score. I know Bawa needs work, but isn't it contradicting your methods by putting in a 7-footer with absolutely no ability whatsoever?

no contradiction here.

when i say start jobe i'm not saying play him 35 minutes. closer to 10 max would be my thinking. bawa, i would hope, would end up securing the bulk of the time in that position. he can then replace jobe starting...assuming he develops.

we have to get more physical, however. it's great to say put your five best players out there...even if they are all small forwards and guards...but we at least need to develop the flexibility to play a more physical game and develop a presence on the boards. as someone already noted, jobe is the only guy we currently have who can physically match up against developed bigs. and he can save guys like watford fouls, cuz jobe is expendable.

this whole conversation wouldn't even be necessary if pritchard wasn't such a fucking waste of a big. honestly, at present i have a hard time seeing how jobe brings any less than pritchard to the court. call it the lesser of two evils. but i do agree with you that developing bawa needs to be a priority in whatever strategy is selected to address our lack of interior presence.

Yes, I keep saying that too. Bawa needs to play more. I think he can bring more to the table than Jobe and Pritchard plays way too soft. If Crean isn't going to redshirt him, then at least play him 10-15 minutes a game. He needs to play more than Jobe and as much as Pritchard, until Pritchard gets his head out of his ass and starts playing like we think he is capable of playing.

More good news from Crean's twitterfest.

"Great practice tonight. Wow was Tom Pritchard good. We just need to get that from him in games."

Maybe he's improving?

Maybe it was a practice from IU's production of "Of mice and men"

That might have a lot to do with who he plays against in practice...

in his defense, he looked amazing for the first 4 minutes of the Pitt game, and then he got into foul trouble.
