| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! creek might be the offensive star to be...and watford might be more naturally gifted and all...but derek elston might be the future team leader. his comments posted on ITH are great. "i told the guys inside the huddle that we had to go at it [the boards] with more purpose." tactfully places the shortcomings of team where they are as well. and he's a definite 4 year player that i think hoosier fans will/can embrace. but, as per our current predicament, he's a 4, not a 5. anyhow, i really like this guy and crean should thank his lucky stars that he's even at iu. i fear, left to crean (who i fully support and think he's doing a good job thus far) we would have ended up with some decent 6'4" combo guard instead of elston...which would hardly have addressed our lack of inside presence. somehow, have to find this kid more minutes...and hopefully the other inside guys listen to him about rooting their opposing numbers out of rebounding position. |

I caught that comment too. I think he will be a very vocal leader in the huddle and on the floor, plus the guy does play hard and go after it. I bet you will see a changed team after that Kensucky game. I bet they go after the rebound with more purpose and I bet Crean made boxing out a priority. I also think Rivers has become more of the team leader right now though. |

Speaking of Rivers, I hope this week off was what he needed to get healthy. We'll need him at 100% the rest of the season. |

If not, Crean should try and rest him as much as possible during the next three upcoming games. |

Elston is going to be a big asset for IU over the next 3-4 years. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Typical Cams....always taking a shot at an IU guy when he gets a chance. Really pisses me off. Wonder if he ran a half marathon and shot free throws in front of 15000 people before that comment??? |
