Dumes is irritating, he is just so dumb. However, Rivers is a close 2nd. Being our most experienced D1 player he makes many stupid passes and has a tendency to just force things. Plus his Shaq-like free throw shooting is pathetic. Plus it seems every time we make a great reversal on the perimeter Rivers receives it, hence, no open 3 is attempted. Seriously, how can somebody so atheltic and so coordinated passing abd dribbling the basketball not shoot inside the 3 pt. arc? |

Those two are my one and two but Rivers is #1 because he is our most experience D-1 player, plays a lot of minutes, makes too many dumb mistakes, and can't shot a lick outside of 3 feet. Dumbass can at least shot the ball but still frustrates the hell out me because of his dumb play. |

I had to go with Rivers. It always seems like he is just reckless and out of control. Plus as noted, the guy can't shoot for shit. I mean i honestly think i could beat him in a best of 5 series of horse. Dumes is a pretty close second though. |

It's VAG because he rarely hustles on defense(especially transition defense)and makes a lot of dumb decisions. He has the skills to be an effective 2/3, but he seems to only run hard when IU has the ball. Players with talent who have no heart irritate me much more than a guy who tries hard all the time but makes mistakes. I can live with mistakes..........I can't stand laziness. |

The transition defense reminds me to add another point about why Rivers annoys me. Rivers gets back most every time in transition, however, he slows up and then tries to make some highlight reel block and instead gets a foul called. Seriously, take a fuckin charge or force a pass or something. I didn't know 6'5 guards with jheri curls are shot blockers now. |

Dumes...no question. 4th year in college, supposedly led His JC team and highly rated in the nation in JC, 2nd Big Ten season, probably the oldest player on the team, has no leadership qualities and is quite frankly not really all that good.......I didnt even have to mention the elbows and he is still a wasted schlorship (if evil wants to get into that topic again).......the guy came in highly rated and hasnt really done shit and makes as many mistakes as the walk-ons.....I think that about sums it up |

I don't know if he came in highly rated. He came in noted as a good defensive player from JUCO to fill a roster spot on an awful team...I personally did not have high expectations for him coming in. |

I voted for Rivers, because sometimes he gives me Carson Cunningham flashbacks. An athletic, acrobatic black player trapped in the slow, uncoordinated body of a white boy can be painful to watch. |

Rivers is mixed, he is not all white, and he is more athletic than anyone here seems to be giving him credit for. Hopefully you know that and were just making a point, because otherwise I would have to say your a dumb motherfucker if you couldnt tell he was actually black |

this is a no contest in my book...pritchard...and it's not even remotely close. why? 1 - he has been gifted a major role at a major program and has shown absolutely zero commitment to doing what it takes to improve his game (especially obvious and relevant pertaining to the off-season). as per this criteria - as far as a jones and dumes go, i have actually seen some improvement, at times, from last year. i have seen absolutely none from pritchard. 2 - without even putting in a ton of time, you'd think he could at least mentally come to play as a big instead of a 6'4" 170 lb kid. his lack of any range, literally, is astounding. he has so little athleticism, instead of grabbing a loose ball and starting a break he watches it go out of bounds. he is probably my least liked hoosier of all time. well, neil reid may sneak in there... 3 - i think rivers wins a free throw shooting contest between the two hands down...not even close. and rivers at least offers some, as remote as it may be, potential. it's really criteria no. 1 that "pisses me off" the most. jones i would have voted for at this point last season, but he really has improved...it's just that he's got that much further to go. dumes hasn't had the opportunities this year on the whole to solidify his claim to the title. and jobe is purely a non-entity. so...for "pissing me off", it's all tommy p. on this note, why don't capo, bawa and for the love of buddha elston get tons more minutes...especially in a game like ohio state. so we're not going to win much this year...given. but that doesn't mean we should do everything possible to limit our bigs development going into next season. this fact is really starting to piss me off as well. cheers from the burma border and go hoosiers... |

Well said. hail You are absolutely right. I wish I could change my vote because those are why I have been pissed off at Pritchard to begin with. He slight, ever so slight, improvement lately shadowed my decision. Also, I agree with getting those other players in for more minutes. I can't figure out why Crean doesn't use the bench as a motivating tool. I know we have to quit comparing Crean to Knight, but gee wiz, Knight's tactics worked. When a player isn't producing, making good logical plays, or isn't playing up to his potential, Knight would sit them. They may be part of this dog house and may not see the court for three or four games. Also, if his team got off to poor starts in games like Loyola and OSU, he would have yanked the starters and play the bench the rest of the game. He didn't care if he lost by 50 one game, as long his players got the message and started producing. Why in the world can't Crean do that? I would much rather see Jobe out there hustling his ass off and really trying and doing things to his potential than to see guys just going through the motions and not coming prepared to play. That is how you develp character and leadership, IMO. I would also bet that if a guy wasn't producing for Painter at Purdue, he would bench him. I think good coaches, no matter the talent, will do that. Sorry for rambling on, but this subject is starting to become an ulcer in my stomach. Crean, IMO, needs to more of a coach and less of a cheerleader on that sideline. |

I'll let the board decide who's more ignorant here. I would say the player guarding Rivers is "black." Posted Image |

Is another poll question? :sarcasm: By looking at the picture, he looks white. But we all know his race is considered black because his father is black. I think that is what Regg could be eluding too. I could be wrong. This isn't a big enough subject to call anyone a dumb MF or start a poll question. He can be mistaken as white, especially by the picture above. I even think in another thread the someone stated that is as white as Derek Elston or some other IU player. Can't we all just get along! |
