Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

For some reason, that smiley reminds me a lot of Mike Davis..

Don't worry, the longer it takes Crean to get IU to .500 the more people will start agreeing with me. There are many people who don't disagree with what I say about Crean, but are simply not speaking up and giving him a lot more time to prove himself.

The thing that's funniest to me is that I don't care about IU's record. If they were competing, could hang their hat on something, and Crean was putting them in the best position to win games.........I could deal with losing. Unfortunately that's not what is happening.

Or you just have ridiculous and unrealistic expectations. I don't know where you got this notion that you're the only person who criticizes Crean. On every game thread is see things people complain about the he's done, but the rest of us are overall giving him a fair chance and trying to be patient. Jesus if its this fucking miserable being an IU fan, pick a different fucking team.

People criticize him huh? I don't see much of that around here.

I'm not a fair weather fan. I've been an IU fan longer than most of you guys have been alive. However, I'm not going to sit here and give a free pass to an experienced coach while he shits down the side of his leg time after time in key situations. My expectation is that an experienced coach should know better than that. Did you guys give Davis as fair of a chance, considering he atleast took IU to a NC game(with Knight's players)?......I read constant criticisms of Sampson's coaching style while IU was a top 12 team........in his 2nd season.......with a bunch of new players.........were you leading the charge of 'give him time to implement his system'? Nobody was.

So what is a fair expectation?........wait until he has 2 NBA guards and then get blown out in the final four? I like coaches who do more with less, and Crean doesn't seem to be that guy.

Sampson's team of new players also had senior and NBA prospect DJ White and top 10 prospect Eric Gordon. When Crean had NBA caliber players he still made the final four. His teams were always competitive in the fucking big east.

DJ White had an erratic career marred by injuries. You guys talk about chemistry and learning to play with each other to defend Crean, but you make no mention of it when Sampson had a bunch of new guards handling the ball most of the time.

What about Davis? Did anyone say, 'well, he doesn't have any experience as a head coach and he needs time to learn'? I doubt it.

What I'm getting at is that a lot of people on here are not consistent with their opinions about how much time to give a coach. Does any of it have to do with race?......I don't know.....I do remember reading comments about Davis being a donkey and calling Sampson chief, so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Sampson would still be here if he didn't make too many phone calls, so I don't know what your point is. And our experience argument isn't about Crean's coaching experience, it's playing experience. It is possible for these players to make a lot progress physically and mentally from age 18-22.

You have to keep in mind the situation that Crean inherited when he came here. I can't think of a situation like it.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed
