Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Crean offered a scholarship to 2010 forward Moses Abraham, as JDM posted, yesterday.

He's a 4-star forward with a ton of offers, so it looks like we're a little late in the game.

If IU manages to land the kid we will have started a nice little pipeline to Maryland. A good state to have a pipeline in.

Even if IU has no realistic chance of signing him, going after these types of players is what Crean needs to do. There is no shame in getting turned down by 4 stars at this point.

Even if Crean doesn't get these guys i think it would be big to make some east coast connections. I don't think there is much doubt that those players have great skill and a tough mentality that you can't teach.

And with that name, IU would certainly have God on their side.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Everybody and their mothers are after this kid. Would love to land him but seems doubtful. Also his name is kind of ridiculous.

My question is: Why didn't Crean go after him in the first place?

Crean has been going after this type of player all of the time, I'm not sure what you've been paying attention to.
