Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Even if IU has no realistic chance of signing him, going after these types of players is what Crean needs to do. There is no shame in getting turned down by 4 stars at this point.
Crean has been going after this type of player all of the time, I'm not sure what you've been paying attention to.
Keep reading GBI and post others opinions as your own.

I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. I just seen a video of this kid on ITH. He looks long and lengthy. They said in the Video that he was 6' 8" but looks longer than that to me. I know it is a long shot, but I hope Crean can do a miracle and land this guy. We need someone like that.

I sure hope we show up to play. He must be intriqued/interested if he is making a visit that soon. I sure hope we can land him or some one like him. Even though he is 6'9", he looks longer than that. He seems like he has a long wingspan.

i think this should be our recruiting spiel for the wisky game:

"you see how bad we suck in the interior moses? can you believe this crap? can you please save us moses! you can come in and play 40 minutes and basically run our interior. in fact, if you see some guys you want or don't want on the team for next year just let us know - provide us with your commandments. and have you seen footage of maurice creek? we do have talent, just none of it is in the interior."

but seriously, i hope it's a good game and the crowd is really into it...

He should look how bad the interior is and realize he can have all the minutes he wants. I sure hope we don't embarrass ourselves against Wisky. Isn't Lehr coming back?

Or he could be worried that all of the post players on the roster have failed to develop.

There's two sides to any recruiting pitch. I'm sure the other schools will point that out to him, and in the end, the best way to win these battles is in the W column.

All of who? I'm not sure there has been a post player that's been here for more than 1 offseason.

Well, Pritchard has regressed by all accounts. Elston has been a no show since the beginning of the season it seems. And it doesn't really seem like any of them are getting any better as the season is going along.

You can look at the bad play as an opportunity for playing time, or a bad thing that players aren't progressing.

Anyways, I've read that Georgetown may be tough to be in his recruitment.

Got it. Cuz everyone expects big men to progress during their true freshman years. I guess everyone should have doubted Jajuan Johnson and Matt Painter's ability to help him progress when Johnson went from starter, to significant bench minutes, to playing 10 min/game and hardly contributing during his freshman year.

And I believe Bobby C has actually progressed more than I thought he would since the beginning of the year.

Well, he did go for 10 and 8 in an NCAA tournament game his freshman year.

And Painter had that Landry guy who did alright.

Can you name a big guy that Crean has coached? And just look at Pritchard. That's the definition of regressing and failing to develop.

second. I thought he would be our worst interior player to be honest. As of now, I would say he is our best/2nd best if you count Watford as an interior player.

i agree with this. and i hope to see tons of bobby c over the course of last 5 games or so...

and i have trouble grouping elston in the same category of player...which gets back to part of the problem with his finding an identity. so, pretty much pritchard is the only possible example of not developing...and if we're to be honest he was never expected to develop into anything other than a spot player, and that come his junior/senior seasons. crean just got stuck with sampson's roster fillers...while any talent walked out the door or had the door closed in their face.
